and people were leaving to go home, I completely understood. I didn't leave, but I couldn't blame anyone that did. To be fair, it was the sensible option, even if they did miss three goals. It was us that stayed behind that were daft. When we were 4-1 up against Gillingham and people were leaving a few minutes before the end I could understand that too. We'd won, the game was over.

People were leaving today at 2-2. It was a humdinger of a game. The outcome was far from settled. Both teams were knackered, the players were running on empty, mistakes started creeping in, but all 22 players were still giving it their all to try and win the game. Despite us having far more chances throughout the game it could have gone either way at the end. I don't understand how anyone can leave in a situation like that. A herd of wild horses couldn't have dragged me out of the Ponty End. There was nothing going on anywhere in the world that I would have enjoyed more than seeing us put away a third. Certainly not getting home a bit earlier. It didn't happen, but no one knew that it wasn't going to happen. That's the beauty of football, the script isn't written down.

As a friend said to day, people were leaving before James Bond saved the world.

We were saying exactly the same thing. You wonder why people turn up when they're prepared to leave at that point. Another five minutes and someone would have scored.

Some Folk in the east stand go and watch the last few mins on the telly in the concourse so they can get out easily when whistle goes. Personally I go down and sit in the executive seats for same reason. Neither way do we miss owt.

Have to agree with that completely.

Apparently the bloke in front of me today was a hull fan that checked in only to watch dungeon. He left at 80 mins. I would be astounded that anyone left before the whistle today. Madness

Can't really get that excited about it anymore, tbh. Up to them innit. Only thing that does annoy me, is getting up then standing in the gangway, blocking my view. Get out!

There's always an exodus with five minutes to go, as if some people automatically leave at that point to beat the traffic or summat, it's a bit sad really.

When I was much younger and we were plying our trade in the Fourth Division, I left with Barnsley beating Northampton (I think). On route home I switched onto Sports Report and heard the tones of John Webster say Barnsley 5 Northampton Town 1. This was the last home match I have left before the end.

I used to have to leave early during evening matches many years ago to catch my bus for the night shift just as I missed first 15 minutes when on afters.maybe a few have similar issues.
Seems a quite a few folk have to get away early nowadays though for whatever reason

I've paid for my seat, I'll be buggered if I'm getting up before the end of the match. If I can stay till the bitter end whilst watching a nine man team lose 6-0 at home to Charlton, I can watch a 2-2 draw against Bristol City. Better fan? Nah! Tight fisted, old git demanding to squeeze every bit of my monies worth from the club? You betcha!:D

Towd fella near me goes before the end, but then he aint too steady on his pins so I dunt blame him. We stand int exit tunnel sometimes whilst ref blows then we can get a flyer if our lass is working that neet.

No need for anyone else to understand why people leave early. Everyone has their own reasons.

In the Prem days I had to leave early every Saturday home game, so that I could get work on time. People leave for a multitude of reasons, but those that leave early during games like yesterday, just to be in the pub earlier I'll never understand.
