God, my ears are bleeding. Two men I hope I never end up being in a lift with. Just shut up. They say women nag..... on and on and on
Quite like him actually. Different and interesting. Not like your other 'guests' that bore me to death
Agree to disagree fella. It's a chat show, just listened to Daniel Ratcliffe n he bored the t1ts off me
Me too. A lot more since I've been watching his trews stuff on youtube that Whitey linked to. He seems like a really intelligent bloke.
Very easy to sound intelligent when rambling on about revolutionary politics - the guy knows jack shi.t quite frankly. I also think he'd be quite surprised at how few people would actually vote for him and his ideas.
Don't think he's trying to get people to vote for him though is he? But he is getting people thinking about politics, and I'm sure Russell's audience is generally a young one and it's the younger generation who don't care much for politics. He keeps getting stick from certain journo's about him being rich and therefore being everything he's supposedly questioning. Today he was getting grief on twitter for sitting in an executive box at West Ham. Apparently, that also goes against the things he's supposedly questioning. Not for me. It's clear that he's ruffling feathers and so it's obvious that certain sections of the media (acting on behalf of government and corporate officials) will try to harm any potential message he's getting over to disenchanted civilians. The fact he's an ex drug taker usually gets mentioned. He isn't starting a revolution. He doesn't want to stand as an MP. But he's got a big audience and he's getting things out there that the likes of the BBC (for example) would never. He's making people think. And he's funny with it. In my opinion.
Crikey, I actually agree with Whitey on this one. Have to support Brand and his message, whether he's a rich celeb or not...
Perhaps 'vote' was the wrong choice of word, maybe simply 'agree' would have sufficed. I have a degree in the subject and even then I'm by no means an expert - there's just so much to know about Politics. But to me, Russell Brand's views represent hundreds of similarly juvenile individuals who would turn up at seminar's with a chip on their shoulder, trying to impress while making out to be the next Niccolo Machiavelli. In the end, it just gets boring.
So you're happy with the current state of party politics in this country then? And you've got a degree?
No problem, Zemaj. I'm not usually one for politics. I know enough about the subject to get by, I have my views etc, but I have so little trust/faith in the vast majority of politicians that I can't usually be arsed to talk about it. But when someone I find funny and interesting such as Brand discussing it, I get drawn in again. Big year 2015. And I'm not convinced that by voting red, blue or yellow makes much of a difference. Which I find sad. Bed now. Up at 5am to go pay tax.
