Bit harsh! " The other thing I wouldn't have done is sign for Barnsley. The fans were horrible. Strange people. Funny town. I wouldn't have gone there"
Can't say as I really remember him. Assuming he was just another in the long production line of $hit defenders that's played for us
A year before signing him, Neil Shipperley and Georgi Hristov had him on toast when we kept meeting Stockport. So we signed him. And loads of strikers had him on toast. With marmalade.
Sheron almost bankrupted us and was absolute ***** from start to finish. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
What he means is we quickly cottoned on to the fact he was ***** and let him know. Clearly lacks humility.
No but I remember him v Norwich when we lost and were relegated - the lumbering led legged concrete footed waste of a shirt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We've had laikers before and after him who've earned more brass. And I don't think he can be blamed for accepting the money, nor is it his fault that he cost us £1.5m or whatever. As for his ability, I thought he was much better than given credit for. Not as good as he'd been for other clubs, mind. Not by a long chalk. But compared to some of the tripe we've watched since he was a reight player. He scored 40 goals in just under 170 appearances (128 starts). Created many more. But he didn't run his ******** off and he was an expensive signing who was still at the club when we went into decline and so took a lot of stick. I'm in a minority on this though, no doubt.
Both he and the equally cack Paul Gibbs were labelled as "last throw of the dice" Flynn hit an attempted clearance straight up in the air straight to another player. I do often wonder how things would have panned out had Wardy cone back...
Unfortunately a lot of his 'goals created' stats were for the opposition , the number of times he gave the other side the ball in his own half was an embarrassment for a professional footballer. I know someone who did their coaching badges with him, nice bloke apparently . As for Mike Flynn , he 'helps out' at Rochdale , enough said
