That was against Northampton the following season when he did the vertical volley. The useless tosspot.

It was around the same time Gibbo scored a pen against Port Vale, kissed the badge and got booed!

He won't remember on account of not being at the game.

Completely agree with the view on Sheron. Quality player and I could never understand the amount of stick he got. The same with Kevin Richardson.

Richardson was the 36 year old replacement so to speak for Redfearn. Never going to work

Yep. Both he and VDL had huge shoes to fill.

Richardson had the game in his head. Just the problem of his legs going that held him back. Pretty fundamental for a central midfielder to be able to run.

Flynn on the other hand was fecking useless. Definitely makes my worst reds XI.

I also agree with the Sheron comment. DWsuffered the same when he first played. Looked **** because of the lesser ability around him.

I didn't think he was bad either. Had wayyyyyyyyyyy more worse than him in positions all over the team, not just up front. An alright scoring record and it's more baffling to me people who rated Hristov who's one of our biggest ever flops.

As for Mike Flynn he would be in most folks worst ever tarn 11 as one of the very first names on the team sheet.

I think for me Sheron represents an end of things of innocence of dreaming. He failed with us like he failed at pretty much everywhere other than Stoke. As for being surrounded by lesser mortals amongst the dross we had some fairly decent players at the time.

Redders did too. He had so much class and skill that when he signed for us he wasn't particularly well liked by alot of fans for quite a while. His football brain was so far ahead of those around him that he'd play good balls his team mates should have read better and would get stick from the terraces for it.

That's not how I remember Redders pre-promotion season. He used to do my head in. Did very well for two seasons though.

First played '91-92? Promo 5 seasons after. I for one was off my t1ts for the best part of the early-mid 90's so I will only look back on my Redders man crush and multiple w4nk bank opportunities following another top goal.

Sounds like sour grapes this, what with him slagging us off. It's as though I'm just giving it back in kind. But that's not the case. He was ******* rubbish. Absolutely shocking. One of the worst players, if not the very worst, that I have ever seen us play for us. Signed at the same time as Paul Gibbs, another very poor player, but at least Gibbs tried. This guy didn't.

As a previous poster stated he didn't really okay enough games for us to hold such strong opinion
