The first keeper I saw at Oakwell was Ray Wood. Not saying he was the worst but he didn't seem the most agile.

Could be a good topic this, if you get nominations in and put a vote up for the top 3 nominated or summat.

I propose Vito Mannone. Not necessarily a bad keeper now (well, last two weeks aside) but all I remember him for is dropping a cross against Preston after coming on as a sub and costing us summat else somewhere too.

Manonne dropped a simple cross at the foot of a Luton player in the last minute which cost us a game. He was *****, but for those old enough to remember, "juggler" Jake Findlay was the worst in my time.

Tony Bullock was pretty cack. Of those who were first team regulars, Andy Marriot was reasonably awful. Kevin Miller's final season was painful to watch (he must have been bad to be dropped for Marriot). That chubby blond bloke we had for a few weeks during the Hodges era was also absolutely terrible. Was it Martin Taylor? Looked like a morph of Jan Molby and Geoffrey from Rainbow. Absolute bobbins.

We've been quite lucky at Barnsley and have had some pretty capable keepers but I'd say the worst I've seen was Manonne.

David Gonzales. The lad we signed from Brighton a couple of years ago. He only played a few games thank god. Notable mentions for:

    Tony Bullock
    Marlon Beresford
    Vito Mannone

Beresford was a decent keeper from what I remember.

Paul Malcom was appalling and Mannonie wasn't much better

    Mannone of the loanees.

Paul malcom and Jake Findlay otherwise.

In my time as a Barnsley fan I think goalkeeper has been our most consistently strong position.
