Don't particularly recommend Kelham Island for pre match drink not that it isn't good just a bit far out for pre match. If you're hanging round after I'd recommend it for a few leisurely beers and some food at the Riverside. Eccy Road super friendly but I'd avoid the Wetherspoons nearest to town on the corner, recommendations would probably be The Pointing Dog, Porter Brook Tavern or the Lescar which is just behind Eccy Road on Sharrow Vale Road. I'd rename Champs Chavs myself but that's just personal preference. Dev Cat in town for nice food and real Ale. Very family orientated on a Saturday afternoon. We will be crawling down Division Street. All decent particularly The Old House and Frog and Parrot. Avoid being kettled near the station. The Tap won't let you in and the rest are pretty *****. Just tell em ypu are off shopping if they try it Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
I like Bungalows and Beas but their toilets should be condemned I'm sure when they do the research it will be found that Ebola originated in there. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Thanks for responses everybody. Not been to United since the promotion season when John Hendrie stuck the winner away with 2 mins left. One of the best moments of my life, at the time. Only off for a few cheeky ones before, just can't be arsed contending with ming mongs along the way. Will prob give Eccy road a bash and hope for the best. Have a good day fellow Reds. UTR. Mike.
That's why you need the gin for breakfast. Get a handle on your nerves. If Danny and the boys are down Kelham Island before kick off and someone off the BBS has to get them to Bramall Lane, I might change the habit of a lifetime and have a flutter on the opposition. And sell my match ticket. I've seen the team play drunk once before, away at Oxford in the promotion season. They didn't make a very good fist of it.
Anywhere in the city apart from London Road, that's where Steve Cowans and his pals will be hanging out.
God, I was at that game too... I remember loads of promotion flags being held aloft in the away only for Oxford to spank our team of jolly drunkards.
I remember Redfearn trying to get angry at Bullock for randomly falling over then tripping over his own feet...still my favourite away day ever Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Devonshire Cat, Great Gatsby, Frog and Parrott all decent up that end of Sheffield, last time in Sheffield went to Bankers Draft typical wetherspoons but decent ales!
If not rounded up for Howard you are best walking about 100 yards up the road on the left to Graduate. Pool table, does food and is cheap for drinks. Usually quiet too because it's not really a pub footie fans pack out, so you'd get served fast.
Thinking of going in the Graduate after the game. To get there before the match you're best walking right towards the bus station and up onto Arundel gate that way up the side of the odeon and O2 academy then up the side of the crucible. That way you should avoid the police.
