I'm a little surprised the club want to do applause. Not my idea of best way to remember so many fallen people. I say this not knowing what FA have asked clubs to do.
Applause is a happier way to celebrate the life of an individual we may have known and we can personalise out thoughts. For such a tragedy of world war I've only even known silence as the most appropriate way. I might just stand head bowed. Sure others who notice wouldn't mind
100 % agree silence for our heroes is the only way in my book.... perhaps if we petition the club it may be altered .
Re: I have just phoned and E-mailed the club There are enough silent minutes on a matchday at Oakwell....
well if you want to make fun of this go ahead. Personally I do not think its a theme to be joked about.
Re: well if you want to make fun of this go ahead. Personally It should be silence, it's about taking time to reflect and think about what happened.
Re: well if you want to make fun of this go ahead. Personally I have relatives who've fought and died for this country and family still serving now. I'm pretty damn sure they'd have 'got' my humour. But each to their own. As I said in the other thread, I agree that it should be a silent moment, a moment to reflect upon the sacrifices these lads/lasses have made over the years. I've emailed the CEO with my thoughts and I imagine if enough fuss is made the club will alter it.
Re: well if you want to make fun of this go ahead. Personally I know you are not a bad fella whitey, I am just bemused about it all, I retract the thread if I upset you. We do agree on the silence which is the main thing here, Sorry.
