We're a league above them, so we should be the better team, but the gulf in class was huge. Summat to take note of though, Hourihane, Winnall and Williams were all playing in the same league as Burton last season. Luke Berry was playing a league lower. Dudgeon played in two Capital One cup games, and that's it. Bailey made two sub appearances and that's it. Cole had never played a professional game. It wasn't a team of superstars against lower league opposition. It's from the lower leagues and the reserves of bigger clubs that Wilson has put together this side.

To give Burton credit they played some decent stuff at times in the first half, but they had no answer to our possession football in the second and spent the game chasing the ball. Winnall got the man of the match, for the hattrick, but he's actually played much better this season when he didn't score. My personal motm was Cranie who just looked awesome. He'd got everything.

    Well played Reds

Agree about Cranie. Good defensively and a threat going forward.

many thanks for that Jay incisive as per...

if you read what I put in my post "wonder where Tyrone1 is right now" I am sure you would agree that we could not have gone into todays match feeling as if it was a given. I am well pleased at todays result.

Loved it when the bloke with the comical voice, sat somewhere to our left, started screaming abuse at our team for having the audacity to keep possession of the ball. Especially when it then led to our goal!:D

Before the game I thought we would struggle against a decent big physical side and just before we scored it looked that way. Then we found another gear. Have to say we won without playing particularly well whichs probably a good sign.

Do you sit towards the back of the Ponte end BigLil, towards the West Stand? I get the impression you sit in the same sort of position as me but about 15 rows further back. I think the bloke you're referring to is my mum's cousin Ken. I often hear him yelling throughout the game even though he's some way behind me. He's a bit of a character.

    Walking football

... in the second half. They just couldn't get near us.

    Well played Barnsley.

Thought that was Crainie's best game for us, also a shout out for Bailey. Kept it simple, but also put some good raking balls to the wings.

"Rubbish Bailey, bloody rubbish man. Booooo." as Bailey plays another pass to a Barnsley shirt. 5 seconds later we score. He must have learnt summat because I didn't hear a squeak out of him after that.

    Yup, I do, mate.
Reminded me of an incident many years ago. We were playing Swindon one foggy night (during the promotion season). Redfearn was charging forward in the old right half position. This bloke, sat in the same area, was screaming at Redfearn to pass the ball. Redfearn decided to shoot and put the ball into the top corner of the net. The bloke refused to celebrate the goal, as he felt Redfearn should've passed instead of shooting!:D

You sit close to me if you sit 15 rows in front of JLWBL

If you look back there's a good looking chap usually in a green top. That's JLWBL. I think Jay sits with him but he's always run off when I speak to Kev...

Some manage it all by themselves without the help from anyone else.

Some people just get so embarassed because they were wrong, why not make a joke out of it.

    Surely we've all done it

Remember a game a few years back, I think against Newcastle and we brought Geoff Thomas on and I said loudly "What's he going to do?" and then within 5 mins he unleashed a shot and scored and I said loudly again "Oh, that's what he's going to do!"

I sit directly below gangway 5. Must admit I can't see any further than about 5 yards away from me so I wouldn't be able to pick anyone out. I have to get my brother to commentate the game for me,

Last season at home to Birmingham:-
    Me:"M'voto's started the game okay".
M'voto then proceeds to pass the ball to an opponent, he passes it to a team mate, team mate scores.
    Jay:"How long was that?"
Phil: "Four seconds" He actually timed me!
Jay & Phil together:"Shut up, Kev!"
I kept my own counsel from thereon in!:D
