What happens if his team collegues don't want him to train with them and they decide to walk out?

If this would have happened at Oakwell over the past few years would our players like Hassell,Moore,O'Grady and Steele snub him and refuse to play with him or would they show forgiveness?

At the moment I can't find any answers to the whole mess.It certainly isn't black and white in my view.

I think management would probably gather the players together to brief & receive feedback before any decision wouldve been made

Also I got the impression in a recent interview that Clough wasn't exactly over the moon about this situation and that any signing of Evans would not be driven by him. So if Clough didn't want him there would he ignore him and not ever pick him in his squad.

    I was thinking this yesterday.

Personally I don't think it's good for team morale having a convicted rapist as part of said team.

Problem with that is if the board sign him up and clough never picks him he wont be allowed to sign another striker -he will have half the fans on his back for not playing him and the chairman / owner pissed off as well

He is in a no win situation - its far simpler for all concerned to just say we arent signing convicted rapists - which I am sure is Cloughs view - dont envy him but he did sign up to manage the blunts in the first place so sympathy a bit diluted

I thought that the terms of his early release prohibit him getting near any other slants

It's all ****** that they haven't made a decision, they obviously have and are just trying to ease their way into it. They may as well just sign him now, because to me considering employing a convicted rapist is as bad as employing him.

there shouldn't be anything to think about. If they weren't gonna employ him they would have just said NO from the start.

There's people come out of prison for far less crimes can't get a job on minimum wage. Why should it be any different for footballers

as much as i would be against barnsley signing anyone of his ilk im quite happy sheffield united look like they are going to do it. a club and player who deserve each other. when it ruins their eason , divides fans, looses them sponsors and ultimatly shows them up for exactly what they are il actually be quite happy. horrible club. horiible human being.

They will sign him as soon as they get him fit, in my opinion, or he wouldn't be training with them.

Why would they have him training with them, and take all the flak that comes with that, if there's no intentions of giving him a contract?

Bottom line is they want him back, not least 'cos all their strikers are crap.

I find it odd that he has refused to give his opinion properlu. Hes the manager so surely he can state whether or not HE wants to sign a player. Hes done it countless times with other players but not Evans. I suspect that he is being deliberately vague so that when they sign him and he plays him the fans will think it was against his wishes.

Read about him training with them again. Disgusting.

Convicted rapist who had his appeal refused.

Sheffield United quoted as saying that they consider the offence of rape with the utmost seriousness - oh except that they'll let one play for their club.

Disgraceful. Time for Sheffield United to close their doors and take their disgraceful club out of the game.
