10 goals and at least five assists for Hourihane. That must be a record at this stage of the season.

I think you could safely double the number of assists. Good times!

Just read somewhere else he's scored 10 goals and has 10 assists, that's 50 points in Fantasy League terms - more than Aguero (36) and Costa (30).

And another. 7-1. Pretty similar to many of the others. Hourihane puts it in an area just far enough away from the keeper to prevent him coming for it, a Barnsley player runs in and nods it home. It looks simple, you'd think it would be simple, but we know from years of scoring very few goals from corners that it isn't. Althought, having read the BBS this morning it sounds like assists from corners no longer count.

Crewe (away) - Corner taker Hourihane - Scorer Cranie
Coventry (away) Corner taker Hourihane - Scorer Lita
MK Dons (home) - Corner taker Jennings - Scorer Cole
Rochdale (away)- Corner taker Hourihane - Scorer Ramage
Sheff Utd (away) - Corner taker Hourihane - Scorer Winnall
Colchester (home) - Corner taker Hourihane - Scorer Ramage
Doncaster (home) - Corner taker Hourihane - Scorer Nyatanga

    Re: curiouser and curiouser

Must admit that one gets me baffled as well - when you consider how bad we have been at scoring from corners for the past few seasons the fact we have been consitently scoring them this season must mean the guy taking them has a talent that previous season corner takers are lacking in - I suspect its the

    bit

Even more good news is that we havent conceded from a corner for ages so the keeper and central defenders must be doing something right

Yet another corner taken by Hourihane and headed home. Unfortunately, we then conceeded from one almost immediately afterwards. Still 8-2 isn't bad.

Crewe (away) - Corner taker Hourihane - Scorer Cranie
Coventry (away) Corner taker Hourihane - Scorer Lita
MK Dons (home) - Corner taker Jennings - Scorer Cole
Rochdale (away)- Corner taker Hourihane - Scorer Ramage
Sheff Utd (away) - Corner taker Hourihane - Scorer Winnall
Colchester (home) - Corner taker Hourihane - Scorer Ramage
Doncaster (home) - Corner taker Hourihane - Scorer Nyatanga
Walsall (away) - Corner taker Hourihane - Scorer Nyatanga

Been a while since I updated this.

Last time was after the Donny home game which left us winning 7-1.

Crewe (away) - Corner taker Hourihane - Scorer Cranie
Coventry (away) Corner taker Hourihane - Scorer Lita
MK Dons (home) - Corner taker Jennings - Scorer Cole
Rochdale (away)- Corner taker Hourihane - Scorer Ramage
Sheff Utd (away) - Corner taker Hourihane - Scorer Winnall
Colchester (home) - Corner taker Hourihane - Scorer Ramage
Doncaster (home) - Corner taker Hourihane - Scorer Nyatanga

    Since then

Walsall (away) Corner Taker Hourihane - Scorer Nyatanga
Crewe (home) Corner Taker (Not sure, help?) - Scorer Own Goal
Walsall (home) Corner Taker Hourihane - Scorer Waring

We've conceded goals from corners against Walsall (away), Middlesbrough (home) and Fleetwood (home).

    So it's 10-4.

The goal against Crewe came from a cross by Lalkovic, after he'd ran to the bye line. The goalkeeper then threw his cross into the goal.
As well as the corners, Hourihane's free kick deliveries have also resulted in a few goals, too.

The first goal against Port Vale was as you've described. The second goal against Crewe was a corner the sub keeper punched straight up in the air then, when it came down, in to the goal.

I remember it being someone different as Conor was subbed off I think. Wasn't it Scowen? Or maybe O'Sullivan. Certain it was one of those two.

Couldn't remember myself, but watching the highlights it looks like young George Smith

MK Dons (home) - Corner taker Jennings - Scorer Cole

(There may be more conceeded but I don't get as excited to update those as I do when we score from them.)

I'd like to see the figure from free-kicks as well. It's been ridiculous the amount we've scored from set pieces this season, utterly ridiculous. In our last few seasons in the Championship we scored probably twice from corners. Hourihane might not offer much in the way of energy/tackling but imagine what our goals for column would look like without his set pieces and (earlier in the season) goals.

Re: Corner watch final score 13-3

a goal every 3.5 games. Considering some recent seasons we have been struggling to score even 1 that's s great improvement. Only conceding 3 is pretty good too.
