I know it was Friday but better late than never. Just wanna say what a very entertaining game that was. We played some really good stuff. Still one or two pieces of play to be improved upon but I'm sure DW given time will sort the occasional defensive lapses out. TBF Colchester looked a fair outfit and played quite well throughout. So that in its self made our win all the more creditable. Well done BFC in winning and making my visit all the more worthwhile. Nice to have met more posters off the board. You know who you are. Thanks for your warm reception in Redfearns. And again great to meet up with Sparky, Biglil and Barnsley66. BTW I went to Doncaster yesterday and although they got beat they certainly looked the better side. Sheff Utd, you will all be happy to hear, really struggling to put the ball in the net. Although the goal they scored was worthy of winning any game. I'm sure if Donny had scored that penalty the result would have been very different.
I was at Donny too, thought it was a poor game up to the hour mark, both sides never looked like scoring although it was a cracking goal by Murphy. The burst through the centre by Coppinger was the first real threat of the game by either side. Utd had a lot of possession until the sending off but never really caused Doncaster any danger. After the sending off Donny had more of the ball but couldn't get through Utd's two lines of defence. Could see why we won 0-1. Thought it was a strange substitution by Clough to bring JCR off after the sending off, he was starting to cause a few problems down the right side and he was the only one with pace up top for Utd. I did think though that Donny looked like a team that will be struggling, didn't seem to create a great deal and even after the sending off they never really caused Utd problems. Pitch looked in great condition, a lot better than wembley.
Payback for the Scottish Cup Final earlier this year, mate! Had United won, Ian would've given you a bottle of single malt whiskey on Friday!
