Scored a combined total of 19 goals in 247 games for Barnsley.

    Winnall & Hourihane have 19 in 40.

    Thats according to SoccerBase.

    That could show two things.

The Championship is harder to score in ...... OR

Daggers, Daws and Perks were pants.

In just the 16 league games I've seen even after a skin full I can see the gulf in class in this league and the championship

And Dawson is still struggling to get in score sheet

They seem far better players, but let's not forget we're playing against some very poor teams now.

Also, Dawson and Perkins just aren't goalscorers - they've rarely scored goals at any level of football they've played.

Interesting stats though - seems like we've found two jewels in Hourihane and Winnall. Certainly expecting bids for Hourihane in January, just hope we hold out for a decent price.

Its hard to compare them but I have a feeling that Hourihane will score goals at a higher level than he is now, probably with another team.

Obviously its complete guesswork. But you'd think at even Championship level Winnall and Hourihane would manage at least 40 goals in 247 games between them. Even that would be a poor record.

It just further exemplifies how poor our team has been for the last 3-4 years. I mean we were playing those 3 in the same 11 at Championship level. We really did never stand a chance.

    Stephen Dawson cannot play football

The other 2 were honest triers who had spells of playing above themselves and for a time looked like they could at least cope with Championship football.

Dags was OK. Never a 20 goal a season striker but was ridiculously unlucky in front of goal.

I thought Winnall was going to be a similar story prior to his current hot streak.

Dagnall and Perkins would be a more even match if you compared them to Bailey and Berry.

No they wouldn't. Dagnalls a striker he compares perfectly with Winnall. Hourihane is a central midfield player, as are Dawson and Perkins.

Andy Duggan - a goal every 1.5 appearances for Barnsley. From central defense. #Prolific

That's right. More fair to compare defensive players to others.

They'd be more evenly matched on the result but why would you compare those?

Arblaster, Springett, Baker.... 3000 games, no goals. What did we see in those forwards? They were so crap that they put them in the nets as punishment.
