I'll be driving to Oakwell at a stupid time as I live in Selby - unless anyone knows of anywhere cheap to stay nearby? Can't be arsed with driving up at 2am and then having to pick up my car from oakwell and drive home... On another note if anyone needs a lift to Oakwell that morning I'll have 4 spots in the car if I've nowhere to stay.
Think the Hoyle Mill Inn is fairly reasonable. Never stayed there, but I'm sure it's fine as somewhere to crash for the half a night. 3am start time ..... gulp!
If you have a blow up bed u can kip at mine. I live 100 yards away from t'Well. One of the walkers is already stopping at mine, you're more than welcome. Stick the 'hotel coin' int charity pot instead. If tha replies I'll pm mi number. Serious offer btw

Too late nar. We're booked in one of Lenny Henry's suites. I'll remember for future silly walks though.
I walk a few miles every day. I regularly do longer walks of about 5-10 miles at weekends. I go on holidays to places like the Lake District specifically so me and our lass can go walking (and drink beer and eat cake). I walk a lot, have done for a number of years now, so I'm used to it. I would find walking 26 miles extremely uncomfortable. I've never walked that far in a day, most I've done is about 20, and I know that once you reach 15 or so it's no longer enjoyable. Your muscles start aching, at my age your joints start aching, the boots that you've always insisted fit you like a glove and are like walking on air suddenly start causing you gyp and rubbing you in all sorts of places. It's not very nice. I'm not trying to put anyone off, the camaraderie will get you through, but it's a bloody big task you've taken on and I hope you've all been out walking a bit in these last few weeks to get your body used to it.
Like Jay my other half and I do a lot of walking particularly in the Lake district. The terrain up there can be very challenging. An example is the Mosedale Horseshoe which is probably about 10 miles, not a big walk I here you say ? It is however over extremely rough ground and involves an initial ascent of nearly 3,000 feet. It took us eleven hours and we were knackered at the end. With regard to the 26 miles, if this was on nice grassy paths then because the route is relatively flat (compared with the Lakes) then I think I'd be ok. The killer is road walking, there is no give so your joints and your muscles will ache. You will also find out if your footwear fits well. If you are prone to blisters then take Compeed blister plasters and apply them at the first sign of soreness particularly on your heels. But you'll be reight ! A plea. Please don't overdo it on the alcohol front at the watering hole as you may not finish the walk ! I was virtually carried off the three peaks walk with exposure when I was a young 'un when I had just two pints at a pub during the walk. If I'd had my thumb out of my arse and organised things better I would be doing this... jogged it of course but I'm not so finally, I'd like to record my admiration for all of you taking part in the walk. It is a thoroughly selfless thing to do to help people who desperately need help. So fellow BBSers if you've got a bit of small change down the back of the sofa, chuck it in, it will help someone have the basics that we take for granted. Good luck to all of you !
