They have only sold 350 tickets and expect to sell 600 in total 600 people in the north stand Put them in west and get some school kids attending foc Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Very poor but only ever seen them bring a large following once ( think we won 5-2) Sure they brought about 2000
We must be what, their second/third closest game? I know they've been cack this season but anything under 700 would be pretty poor imo.
I'm a little sympathetic with this one. Just looked, a few recent home games they've had only 3000 home fans in. So 6-700 away isn't a bad % for a team that's struggling. Yes we're a localish match, we're on the Xmas run in etc so there's arguments on either side. Nearly 25% ain't bad. Like us taking 2000 or thereabouts. Let's not get all Leeds/Sheffield. Ours recently has been magnificent. But let's not fall into 'that trap' eh. ?!?
No Wednesday/Leeds windmilling from me, hadn't realised their home attendances were so low. If a quarter of them can be bothered to turn up then that's fair enough. Ours has certainly picked up recently, only poor following was to Rochdale. Hyped up, only an hour away and only 1400 turned up in the end. Since then it's been superb.
We've only been getting 3000-3500 at home as one of the other posters has mentioned. I remember we brought 3,000 in the FA Cup a few years back too (0-0 draw and we won you 2-0 at our place) but our support has somewhat vanished since then. We'd take 2/3,000 to majority of local games but last year struggled to sell 1700 for Grimsby in the cup. Having said that you are the fourth away games on the bounce. Last 5 out of 6 have been away and when we play Worcester in the cup at home it will be the first home game in some 6 weeks . We took 500 to Peterborough, 400 to Forest Green and 300 to Crawley, which is quite respectable considering the length of the Forest Green and Crawley trips. Think there will be 750ish as there is a renewed optimism under Robins. He's brought in some real quality and although we threw away the lead at Crawley, I'm fairly confident ahead of the weekend and for the rest of the season.
Fair enough, under the circumstances 700 isn't bad & we aren't that much of a local Derby, looking at the amount of teams geographically. I don't think Robins is a bad appointment for you. We had a much better team when he walked away, although we played pretty negative tactics throughout. He needs to get someone in on the youth side he can trust though (maybe he has). Like many recent ex Barnsley managers it was always loans, not trying a youth player. Teams like S****horpe, Barnsley, Doncaster, Notts County, Grimsby need to bring through youth players, as we once did, not take too many loans from Premier Clubs. There is no financial reward in loans, just a short term payoff. Needed for injuries, etc, of course.
Well Winnall scored the goals last year but when Madden came in it was rumoured they had a fall out. Madden was the big name and the fans favourite & although Sam carried on scoring he wasnt the main man. I spoke to our Chairman not so long ago, and asked him about Winnall. He was adamant he wanted to leave and wanted the longer deal which we werent prepared to offer. He also didnt think he was that good and couldnt believe he scored so many last year. He had a knack of being in right place at right time but wasnt really a team player. Didnt move much and pre season looked unfit. We were happy with the deal. I wasnt bothered in the slightest and dont think we'd be any better off with him in our team. We missed a lot through injury early on particularly GK and the whole of the defence. Loans came in and also got injured and we had to play a lad called boyce that had only played conference level and a couple of league two cameos last year as our main CB. Considering we had ten players out ( still have main CB Mirfin and also another defender Canavan out) our budget is now one of the biggest in the league and continues to rise. It is absolutely crazy. Watch our for the fantastic Luke Williams on loan from Middlesborough and Liam O'neil from west brom who has played premiership this season and ran the show at crawley. Looks a real talent.
It will be the same over xmas when Oldham arrive. One of the best teams in the country for taking an high percentage of their home crowd away from home. If they keep going as they are doing they might bring 2,000 which would be around half their home support. As for Scunny should be a good one with our old manager returning and our star striker playing against the team we bought him off.
Hes fantastic, your fans were saying he was over weight, unfit asnd didnt run about. complete opposite
