Away fans are usually expected to use the Metrodome. The sports centre overlooking the ground from the hill. It is also where the police will direct all coaches and mini busses to. Suppose this is the only place to drink near the ground as the mount will be packed with home fans. 10 minute walk into town, there's plenty of pubs, mostly on Market Hill, 2 wetherspoons, a walkabout, my cousin who supports Wednesday always goes in the white bear, which is next to Walkabout on Market Hill. As for it being intimidating, I wouldn't say it is at all. I usually only go for a pre match pint if we're playing Wednesday because I have family who watches them, and they've never felt intimidated, other than once where a load of Wednesday chavs stormed Wetherspoons glassing men, women and children. If you're coming in by car, I recommend the disabled riding school just around the corner from Oakwell on Pontefract road. 5 minute walk to the ground which is visible from the car park so you can't really get lost. Costs £2, which goes towards the riding school which is a registered charity. Easy getting out of after the game. Hope you enjoy your day, but don't expect any favours on the pitch
Cheers for that Archey, much appreciated. We're under no illusions of how difficult our task is against you, but hopefully you have your worst game of the season whilst we play like we've never played before... More and more interest down our way for this game, so much so the police are asking for information regarding independent coaches/mini buses going to Barnsley. At the last count it was 6 pub coaches at least... should be some atmosphere!
I have no beef with the west chester crew but the east chester crew want to stay away from the corners and the high rises, shits gunna get messy
If our result and performance yesterday is anything to go by, it's going to be a much closer game than it may seem on paper. We lost Sam Winnall and Peter Ramage to injury yesterday and with a South Yorkshire derby on Tuesday night, we could be in a sorry state by the time we play you on Sunday.
We have a number of players on 4 yellows and the injuries are starting to kick in so this really should be a walk in the park for you, but, this is the FA Cup and you just never know,
I'll even buy ya one if tha promises to smuggle a couple of them squirrels ont coach from that park next to river that ya can hand feed. Coolest little fookers alive them boyz! Ideal Xmas prezzies for my lad. Thankyou
Seriously Phil, after our performance on Saturday, you have every reason to come here with confidence
Season of rebuilding this, consolidation. So the FA Cup is keeping the dream alive for us, summat to get us excited about.
