Done great to get all his goals and assists, but I feel his starting to get a bad attitude, watching him in the last few games his been bad. His work rate defensively is non existant, don't no if others have noticed it. No coincidence a lot of goals we concede come down our left. I no all the dudgeon haters will blame him, but most of the time his left hight and dry with no cover. He could be a great player if he starts doing the mucky side of the game better.

He's scared to put a foot in.
Saving himself for a "big" move in January?

Same as Saturday. Gave the ball away far too much and sh*t his pants with every challenge.

    Don't make me laugh.
He's going nowhere on current form. His attitude when the chips are down is shameful.
Why on earth is he captain? A team looks to a captain for inspiration and leadership. Seeing him shirk tackle after tackle and saunter around like a prima donna isn't going to inspire his team mates. The lad has talent, there's no doubt about that. He needs to quit the posing and put a proper shift in.

Yeh agree but it's when he gives the ball away he throws his arms up blames others then strolls back to position. Looking like he is counting down to January. Hope he comes good again

He may have scored a few goals but his allround game leaves a lot to be desired. People also point to him having is it 10 assists? But id point to the fact someone who is taking every set piece (and I dont think his delivery is brilliant either) should be notching up a fair few assists.

I was saying it even when he was scoring the goals, he's currently not good enough for the championship. Plenty of talent, although he hasn't shown it last few games, but off the ball the game passes him by.

On current form he's going nowhere in January. He has ability but he needs to work very hard on his overall game if he wants to move up the leagues.

I can pretty much guarentee that Bigger Clubs weren't watching Hourihane a few weeks ago. Winnall and Cole were in the sights.

He's an attacking midfielder. He isn't supposed to defend. Oh btw, he's going to be ***** in a three man midfield. He has the freedom to attack more when he has other covering. The only person I'm blaming for our ***** performances is Mr. Wilson.

Agreed, his attitude was very disappointing last night. It's exacerbated by the fact that he's such a good player. Even last night (a dreadful performance) there was the occasional touch and pass in the first half that only he could do on the pitch. When he's getting involved, he's a joy to watch and pretty much all our attacking threat comes through him. But last night we saw the ugly side.

I particularly recall in the first half him completely selling himself with a half hearted attempt at closing a man down, leaving Brown completely exposed at left back. And then again from a short corner, pretty much watching his man waltz past him and into the box with ease. I just hope that he doesn't receive preferential treatment because he's our best 'asset' because he deserved a rocket for those examples alone.

This is the highest level he's ever played at. He's played every minute of every game so far, he's 23, he's got a weight of expectation on his shoulders because of his unbelievable start with us and he's having an average patch. That's all. He's all been a mardy b.stard since he joined but folk are now getting at that because he's not scored in 4 games.

Remember, he set another one up tonight...

Before this season we'd not scored from a corner for f.cking ages. Now we are& we're dismissing 'em?

It's the old 'half his goals are penalties' argument.

Who's dismissing them? Not me. Just not playing them up either.

Another goal set up last night which without we'd have lost again. We have no idea how much pressure he's under. For example.......

    1) Trying to keep the form we know he can do up all the time at a level he's never played at.
    2) Being so dependant for our goals because so many of the guys Wilson has brought in don't know where the net is.
    3) Knowing that our defence is so dreadful at keeping clean sheets that he knows as an attacking player he's likely got to try and get us two goals a game if we've any chance of picking up three points.

I'm glad we've got him and think he's been a terrific signing. It's donkeys years since we've had a midfield player score and assist in so many goals so early in the season. It's something we've all been crying out for, for ages. He's not perfect and has parts of his game that needs working on. But I've never seen any player at Barnsley where that didn't apply, ever. However, as soon as his form dips (which apparently isn't allowed), I think it's somewhat distasteful that he's pounced upon by some like a pack of hyenas on the Serengeti. Also, the history books then appear to get rewritten with regards to his performances for us and they've all suddenly become poor and ineffective.
Just my opinion, of course. Something that we're all allowed to have, apparently, unless it means criticism of the critics.:)
