Neither Tories nor Labour want to win the next election. The existing National Debt will mean greater cuts than anything experienced to date and the party in power in 2015 will be voted out for ever in 2020, if they last that long, for having presided over the inevitable collapse of the education, health, welfare services etc.
The sheer fact that we are living longer means more in OAP benefits, advances in medical science aren't cheap either. Rather than trying to cut expenditure we ought to be getting more tax revenues in to pay for this. In this means raising income tax then so be it - but it needs to be done fairly - that is the key word fairly. Oh and let's get the large corporations paying their fair share rather than wriggling out of it Neither party will do it 'cos they other party will slate them.
First of all David Cameron inherited all this crap from Gordon Brown. It weren't Cameron's fault. The economy is in a process of rebuilding and it's no good changing political parties every term. What we need is stability so I see no point in voting the conservatives out just yet let them have a few more terms. I know we sometimes have to sell off our assets and sometimes we end up getting our pants pulled down, as I said this rebuilding will not happen overnight. In Cameron we trust. Hang on, am I getting mi football and politics mixed up? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
And to think we passed up the opportunity to escape all this ****. Ach I'm very confident Nicola will call another referendum once the spineless 55% realise the big mistake they made In September by believing the **** from Cameron clegg and miliband. Shower of lying b@stards.
Its alright making cuts that trim the fat off in the right areas eg overseas aid. However this and previous incumbents have gone past the fat deep into the finest steaks from the already skinny disease ridden heiffer
the labour party wernt totally blameless in the mess they left behind, the infamous 'no money left' letter was testament to this, they oversaw a credit boom that was unsustainable, where people were allowed to borrow money they would struggle to repay, allowing mortgages of 150% was a recipe for disaster, yes the builders were having a field day but sooner or later it was going to implode and now the banks wont lend. However, the rot did set in long before this, thatcher thought it was ok to destroy our manufacturing base and that it would be alright to cope with the resulting unemployment, well paid jobs for the working class were replaced by poorly paid service jobs and theres no way on gods earth will an economy be strong on that basis.People were made redundant, many were encourage to claim disability payments which removed them from the unemployment figures, others were just part of the scrapheap.Labour came into power and did virtually nothing to sort these problems out and now we are left with cuts which both the main parties agree have to be made, labour just paint a better picture of it.
Biggest problem we have is business people hijacking the worlds resources and pocketing massive amounts of collateral. Then buying commodities such as infrastructure and keeping demand high to enhance their already ample bank accounts. Too many resources in too few pockets while the 99.9% of us scrap for the rest. Tories believe in trickle down but that's because the party is funded by the bstds. Labour tries to please everybody and end up pleasing no feker. Revolution is the only way and we feked that up when we rejected pr. imo
Gordon Brown did not create the big deficit. It was the greedy bankers who robbed us blind and set off the European crisis. As for Osborne and Cameron, you trust them at your peril. Today's Fiscal Studies have just said that for the Tories will need another 51 billion out of the public sector, this comparing to them only taking 37 Billion out in this session. So it is certain they will eventually have to put taxes up and assassinate the poor again and unemployed half as much again on top of what they have already done. The councils services will be chopped harder than ever, and at a time when the aged are due to live a lot longer the Nhs will bust under the pressure So vote Tory and have a life of misery because the rich boys could not care a ****.
Tories do what they always do. Cutting taxes made possible by cutting services. Private affluence and public squalour is the result. People forget how bad the NHS was when labour were elected. But didn't we all want better schools more teachers-more doctors and nurses and more police? They have to be paid for. Thro taxes. Tories don't care they do private education and health care. Working class tories don't seem to get this. I understand where he rich are coming from but the working class tories I don't get.
Gideon committed treason by selling the Royal Mail to his pals at 12bn below the true value. Cun.t of the highest order that bloke. Absolutely disgusting person. As is his boss. The morally bankrupt tosspot. Hate them both with a passion. That said, Milliband is flouncing about like he doesn't have a clue how to exploit their numerous failings. Shame.
What New Labour did wrong was to forget not trusting the market and omit to regulate it again What we see today us the continuation of an economic experiment started in 1979
If you look at the reality that tax receipts haven't increased, as expected there are 2 very very obvious & undeniable reasons: 1. Multinational companies, Amazon, Starbucks, Google, etc paying **** all tax & making billions & then moving them out of the country 2. Workers on minimum / low wages / zero hours contracts who aren't earning enough to pay off government shortfall. Conservative / Labour / Lib Dem all very poor, although Tories have more big business interests in their pockets. If I was Scots, I'd have voted to get out.
You're all missing the point and that is sustainability. The whole concept of economics is founded on there being infinite resources which we can exploit more and more in order to continue to grow the economy. Unfortunately, there aren't infinite resources, therefore, continued growth is not sustainable. Unless things change, sooner or later we will go into a recession from which there is no way out. The whole world needs to understand this basic fact and start to change the way we use and abuse the planet. We've only got the one. Labour, Tory, Liberal - they are all the same with basically the same economic policy.
