Last one on there is Colchester. Wonder what has gone wrong? I want to see the Chesterfield, Scunny and Donny matches just to see if they really were as bad as I remember. Anyone on here able to give a reason why we don't have them up yet for viewing?
I don't know the reason but if I was to guess it would be along the lines of Mark Stokes has left (or at least isn't full time anymore) and Matt has probably got a tonne of work to do on his own.
Well if that is the reason it's not really satisfactory, is it? We're paying for the service and not getting it if that is the case and they will struggle to get new subscribers if it's done done a bit more professionally. I don't expect to see a full match replay the same day, or even the following day, but several weeks is too long a delay to see the replays. I know those 1 to 3 minute clips go in, but they are just what you would get on the BBC FLS. I want to see more than that! There are plenty on here who say they won't pay £38 a year for it but as far as I am concerned it is too cheap. I'd rather pay twice as much PROVIDED we got a much better service. Sometimes the camera work is a bit amateurish, for example, and sometimes the commentary is out of synch with the action. I'm not blaming the individuals here who operate the system - they can only work with what they have got. It's just that I've seen much better coverage than what we get so it would be nice if Mr Mansford et al would address things like this and ensure a better product. I get to every home game but I still want to subscribe to Player. Have done since it started. But it would be REALLY good if it was updated.
We didn't win the games you referred to. That's why. Sad, but true. We ought to be thankful, Huddersfield's 'Player' shows just 2 minute highlights and **** all else. Literally, **** all else.
Like I said, I'm just guessing. Assuming the club still get a decent kick back from this service it would make a lot of sense to fix these issues.
I can see your logic, but it's obviously not true! If Huddersfield do as you say then that is even worse. I'm not trying to knock the service for no good reason here. As I said, I've been using it since they first started and I think it is a brilliant concept, provided it's administered properly. If you set up to commentate on every match and provide full match replays within a couple of days then that is what you should be providing. No excuses. I'd rather see less of the lame interviews and better action replays please. The interviews are pretty much a waste of time as you can rarely hear what the questions being asked are, and the players don't often have anything interesting to say. Not always the case, but usually.
I've offered myself to the club to do videos and upload stuff for em etc, for the wage I'm earning now, plus travel expenses and free entry to games. They're not interested. I'd do a reight job n all.
I'm pretty certain that you would. I think this is the kind of thing that should be raised at the next fans' forum. Or are they not really interested in engaging with us - just lip service to it?
I'd do that if i got free travel, free games/away games. i'd do it for min wage as im in college would be good experience, also something i very much enjoy.
Uncle Ben's obviously unimpressed with your loving technique... On a serious note, if the club employed you, they'd almost certainly insist on you not commenting on social media. Could you exist?
FAO: Original OP P.O.R : The club are under no obligation to provide full match replays, this is classed as bonus material. I'm sure they will appear eventually, but as Gally says the man power isn't available at the moment - since there have been cuts across the board since relegation last April. Another issue has been lack of recorded commentaries from recent games - once again due to technical problems beyond the BFC media department's control. The current terms of contract with the Barnsley Player service provider make it extremely difficult to deal with these issues efficiently. It's understandably frustrating for both the listener and the club, but we are doing our best to ensure subscribers receive as much content as possible.
You're right there, Spider. Financial constraints have obviously been a big issue since the club lost their Championship status and many of us have been affected by this, despite still doing the same amount of work (and more in some cases).
Me and Ben haven't 'touched based' in a while, you might be right. As for the other thing, I refer you to Matt's posts above. He's employed by BFC and still allowed on social media. And I don't exist. Except in your heart and mind. Always. Not heard from you in a while, hope you're well and looking forward to xmas.
Outspoken, aye, but controversial? If I was paid ten bob for doing commentary like thee then I'd tone it down a bit.
25p this season pal. Money has never been the issue with me, the lack of respect I get at times has. Always been prepared to help them with extra bits and pieces, but it doesn't get me anywhere, you're better off out of it to be fair.
