Fair enough. I think the young me was so disappointed by the Caernarfon result that I couldn't remember whether we'd actually lost or just scraped through the replay so I checked the result online. If you trust the most popular Google sites then we lost. That practically makes it a fact these days.
Things surely can't be that bad that you believe this will happen? We are not a full time squad, and one of our best players is one you loaned us. We only have one striker for Sunday now too, as Fleetwood have recalled Matty Hughes and obviously Oates can't play against his employers. I'll go with a 3-1 win to yourselves.

I don't think they are bad at all mate. I think we've played really well in a number of games this season. Not so in the last couple of games, but you take the rough with the smooth. I think we'll win. That doesn't mean we will, your lot may play out of their skins, we might play utter gash, it may be a combination of the two, or you may get lucky, anything can happen in a game between two teams. But I think we'll win. Just hope its a good game.

I went to both games and remember them (along with the pain, embarrassment and humiliation) vividly. It's one reason why I never show ignorance & disrespect to other clubs from further down the footballing pyramid.

Barnsley Loyal - as a small club we can only dream this happens, with the possible financial positives meaning we could go 100% full time if we got a win, followed by a bigger club again (no disrespect, in fact the opposite, you're the biggest club we've played in a long time) in the next round. Really hoping we bring at least 2.5k now. We've sold ll 1000 tickets given at our ground, and I believe well over 600 via your online system now. I know more people without tickets than with, so if that's the same across the board it could really be great following.
I was too young for those defeats but I remember being Bromsgrove who should have hammered us and apologising to their fans afterwards. In any match anything can happen. We are weak defensively but can be devastating (at our level) going forwards. I think it'll be a very close match. As the Dodoth godfather said so eloquently supporting a small club like ours teaches you humility. The times we have turned over bigger clubs than ours just because they turned up expecting to beat little Barnsley makes you never want our club or fans to have a similar attitude.
In all competitions this season we've played 23 games and only won 8 of them, two of which were cup games against division four teams (York and Burton). We haven't won in our last 3 and from winning positions in our last two matches we've come away with just one point. In those 23 games we've only kept 5 clean sheets of which two of them were against York and Burton. We are heavily dependent on Houriane and Winnall for goals and one of them is injured. In our last 9 games we've conceeded 14 goals in a what can be described as shaky defence. Guys who aren't used to professional football but played well earlier in the season such as Luke Berry and Devante Cole are having a drop in form but we've nobody who can really replace them so they can have a rest. We like playing a ball over the top in the air to our smallest player Leroy Lita instead of to his feet. We have a tendency to go backwards. The other night we had a throw in about halfway in the opponents half and before Donny had touched it we had it back to our keeper to hoof back up the field. Our fans rightly will expect us to win because difference in leagues should make a difference like against York in the JPT and Burton in the first round. But if you play the very affective Scunny tactic of last saturday (i'm sure your scout will have told your management) of ten behind the ball, playing on the break and frustrating us by defending so heavily our fans will get restless and your big away following will keep behind your team and you never know what might happen. If we win it won't be a shock, but if we lose it won't be a shock to many either.
I went to all 3 games against Rhyl. Nothing can beat standing in the vast cavernous bowl that Old Trafford was then, on a freezing mid-December night, with about 2500 other fools. And then losing to a team who were in something like the Cheshire League. No disrespect, and they deserved it. And Rhyl's keeper was Grenville Millington, who I believe is now Chairman of Chester!
