Ffs the guy was pleading with the cop that he couldn't breathe and non of the cops around took any notice.
The cop is not even gonna answer publicly his actions unbelievable.

I saw this tactic first hand on the picket lines in 1984\85 we were going absolutely wild seeing our colleagues treat this way and the police had to Intervene with the arresting cops.indeed on one occasion at Welbeck colliery in Derbyshire one policemen took a truncheon and threatened to use on the Met Cop if he didn't let up on the picket.the outcome was the commanding officer intervened the met cop went back and on the picket line .and the Derbyshire cop went in the ambulance with the picket.
Consequently on television that evening a two second clip of the cop arresting the picket and nothing of the aftermath and consequences after.

The cops looked more like the thugs they are supposed to police IMO and acted accordingly.
There is a debate going on now in this country on how we should be policed .not confident of a favourable outcome espe ially with the current government and the seemingly aggressive public opinion.(if we believe all the media hype )

 

I read your thread today, but didn't click on the link because I knew it would be be distressing and I didn't fancy having to sit through it, coward that I am. I've just seen it on Newsnight. They killed him because he was big and black. He just asks them to leave him alone. It's probably the most horrific thing I've ever seen. I'm appalled. Don't know what else to say.

 

Well the evidence is there to prosecute.

I thought it was because he was a serial criminal out on bail who was suspected of once again breaking his bail conditions. You cant just break the law and then say leave me alone.

The police were over the top but not because he was black

 

. They killed him because he was big and black.

I'm not arguing with thi J coz I'm not bright enuff for a start.
It's a reyt **** up of massive proportions that seen this lad lose his life. Appalling. But to say they've done it just coz he's black is ridiculous in the extreme. He was a career criminal. That's no reason to suggest he should have been treated like that, but lets not go down the race route eh?!?

 

Why not C_S? IMO if the guy was white the same excessive force would not have been applied.

Do you honestly feel that the force involved in arresting the man was appropriate?

I feel really really sorry for that man regardless of his previous misdemeanours.

It's my personal opinion, I might be wrong, you could well be right, but that's the impression I get. I just couldn't see this happening to me or you. They wouldn't have taken us down like that.

I don't think I'm guilty of throwing the race card about very often, if at all before this, but this situation really stinks of that to me.

Fella wasn't resisting arrest. He wasn't keen, obviously, but who is? The way they jumped on him, particularly the lovely person giving him the choke, absolute shithouse action. No need, at all.

I would 'expect' that lovely person in particular to be facing an involuntary manslaughter charge.

But this is America, and it's a black criminal. So maybe Jay's got a point...

 

So your a cop on the streets,your boss says im sick of seein him breakin the law, get him arrested.What do you do. " just turn around mate while i put these cuffs on ya" or " Can we just talk about this, youve been a very naughty boy" ,did you see the size of him, admittedly it was an arrest that went wrong but if you put yourself in a certain situation **** WILL happen
