Just back now, what a superb day. I hope we see plenty of you at our place to watch the replay, if you need any info please feel free to ask. I haven't seen any highlights yet but from what I remember we had the best chances but I do fear we may well rue not taking them today, the replay will be tougher than it was today IMO. I was suprised at the lack of invention from your team to be honest, I know you've been talking your team down in the build up but I never expected them to be like this today...maybe it was just our lads playing like we know they can. Thanks again, see you at Chester!
You played well today. Congrats. In that winger (no 7 I think) you had the best player on the pitch. We'll still do you in the replay though
Your team and fans were a great credit to Chester FC. At the end of the game, I and many other home fans quite rightly gave you all a deserved round of applause.
The ex Tranmere lad looked a handful when he came on. I would be surprised if we keep hold of Mahony for long (#7)
Trouble is with Jennings , he has looked worse than the others so far this season, why I have no idea. He should be tearing this division up, been really poor so far !. If you fancy swapping Jennings for Mahony , just give Wilson a bell , I am sure something can be arranged
You were bang average, just as I'd expected. There to be beaten, soundly. Unfortunately, as expected, our lads put in another performance to be ashamed of and it ended up looking like a clash between two poor, Conference sides. I'll praise your lads for their spirit shown, and would accept that you had a few great opportunities and I reckon you deserved to win considering you're two divisions lower and away from home etc etc etc. Your fans were a credit too. The lad Mahon was allowed to look better than I suspect he is, however, he'd be ideal at Oakwell. Rooney was ****, but his corners were superb. The lad that impressed me most was the keeper Worsnop. Played nearly 90 minutes with a bad injury and kept our ***** forwards at bay. I've no interest in attending the replay. I've better things at this time of the year to spend my hard earned on. If we draw a big club in the 3rd round, I fear that'll be extra motivation for Chester and I see nothing but a humiliating exit for us. As you can maybe sense, my satisfaction is ebbing away. I've seen this BFC for the last 3, 4, 5 years. Every time I sense a change, they **** me right up the shitter. Glad you enjoyed the day, HUGE respect to every one of you who've rebuilt a club from the ashes, but the higher you climb back up, the more you'll end up like me/us and disillusioned once more with ******* football.
If we have Williams back in a 4 man midfield we'll dominate you (no offence) but our manager doesnt like trusting our youngens apparently so he decides to play 433 a formation not one of our players like or can play.... Anyway, goodluck in the season
The keeper is in A&E, played 85 minutes with a suspected fractured cheekbone! Being a fan owned club is superb, tough work for everyone who chips in but really good.
I hope you are right when you say you've had your chance and things wont be so easy in the replay. Thing is, in the last 2 or 3 games we have been getting steadily worse and it reached a new low today. And you still didnt beat us. That doesn't bode well for your chances. For my own peace of mind, I am trying to be optimistic that we wil never play as badly again in my lifetime. I just wish I could think that way with some conviction.
So he did trust him, but I think on todays showing he let himself down as well as Wilson. Too many today were shocking.
He wasn't that bad, his what? 5-6th game? he's 19, im sure he'll feature but it's irritating seeing 3 midfielders when he have two potential great players.
