Wilson doesn't seem to have any idea & just wondering what people on here think. I'd go with a 4-4-2 using the following: Turnbull Cranie Ramage Nyatanga Dudgeon Williams Berry Bailey Jennings Winnall Cole Subs: Davies Bree M'Voto Hourihane Treacy Noble-Lazarus Trotta Some might see it as controversial to not have Hourihane in there but his form has been poor for a while & I'd rather drop him than try & play him wide where he has little effect. If you play him in the centre of a midfield four he offers no protection to the defence so I'd bench him. Still think Jennings will come good & hoping that he'd have a decent 2nd half of the season like last year. & Trotta's been poor so far but let's be honest Wilson's trying to play him as a no. 10 which isn't his game. Anyone that's watched the football league show past the championship for the past 2 years knows he's a quality league one striker
3-5-2 Turnbull Cranie Nyatanga Ramage Jennings (RWB) Berry Hourihane Williams(AMC) Dudgeon (LWB) Winnall Lita Subs: Davies M'Voto Treacy Bailey Bree Cole Trotta
For me we need to go back to the formation that scrapped out a win away at Rochdale. 4-5-1 with available players ---------------Turnbull------------------ --Holgate--Craine--Nyatanga--Dudgeon-- ------------Berry---Bailey-------------- Treacey------Hourihane------Jennings -----------------Lita---------------------
Anyone who doesn't pick Hourihane and Winnall is a complete mentalist. That's 20 goals you've taken away.
Instead of playing one of the few good signings Wilson has made you'd play a midfield of....... Williams: Looked OK so far but because of how bad we've been with him unavailable he's talked up more as a saviour type. Berry: Not going to get us goals, form has dipped and he looks tired. Bailey: Not going to get us goals and frustrates alot of fans with his backwards/sidewards passing. Jennings: Played around 70 games for us and been good in about five of them. Hardly ever scores goals too.
---------------Turnbull Bree------Craine--Ramage--Dudgeon ------------Berry---Bailey Williams------Hourihane------Jennings ---------------Winnall I'd go 451 too, or 4231. As above. We do need to bring in a new DM and a wide MF though.
Scoring goals isn't the problem though, it's conceding them. Berry & Bailey in the centre together gives the back 4 the protection they need and I'd rather play with natural wise men than try to put square pegs in round holes like we have when Hourihane's been played wide. If a midfield 5's needed for certain games then Cole out for Hourihane
We conceed plenty with Berry and Bailey in the same side, which puts pressure on our attacking players as they know clean sheets aren't very likely so we have to score at least twice to win most games. The list of guys i'd try and move on in January is huge mind.
Turnbull Cranie Ramage Nyatanga Dudgeon Cole Berry Williams Hourihane Jennings Winnall Davies, Bree, Holgate, Bailey, RNL, Hemmings, Maris.
