It's not about limiting immigration. Christ, that should have been in place forever. The point that I often make, as do others, is that in terms of pertinent issues facing the country, immigration is way down that scale. Whereas, the horrific cuts on public spending, the fact that this government is robbing from the poor to give more to the rich, the governments insistance on bailing out banks, giving them bonuses for failure etc, these are proper issues. But folk are seemingly happy to ignore them and instead focus on immigration. Again. And that's what the Tories et al want you to do.
There is an issue with immigration into the UK. The UK is seen as a soft touch which is why people travel through half a dozen countries to get here by any means. One of the problems the UK suffers from is with the low paid service jobs eg waitressing and factory come warehouse work. Types of jobs a number of us would have done when we had left school just starting out. Which for me is one of the factors of why youth unemployment is so hig It doesn't help that the indigenous UK population is seemingly stuck in a bubble of i want it now for nowt attitudes wanting everything on a platem. Especially the younger generation.
It is, in my opinion. That's what this is for isn't it, opinions? I'd like you to tell me why it is such an issue then? Mateusz from Poland is earning NMW at a factory, he works hard every day and pays his rent (private rented) on time etc. What is it about that that affects you negatively? Or, Imran from Pakistan who's a local GP and a very good one. How is he affecting the country negatively for you? For me, for my life, my beliefs and what not, I really don't see immigration as such a big problem. I agree it should be limited/controlled more, but then, I assumed it was. If not, then again I point the finger of blame at the government/big business. Only last week I saw that Next were busing in a load of eastern europeans to work over xmas. Why?
Of course you are entitled to your opinion Andrew just like we all are. Personally I think the 2 examples you have gave are quite lame, nobody is bothered about Mateauz working in a factory or GP Imran tending to your upset belly what people are pissed off about is the thousands who are unaccounted for, the thousands milking the system dry and the thousands coming over to use our NHS for **** all, that's were the issue is my friend. Now if this is an issue that is way down the scale then God help us!!!
And you think they're a big drain on our resources, right? Like the millions unemployed, British born? Are we still blaming the immigrants for that, for taking 'all our jobs'? Farage is already blaming them for our roads. The governments, bankers and big business, and in some cases the media moguls are to blame. For pretty much everything you're relating to immigration. So what's your plan? To vote UKIP? You think Uncle Nige will fix all this? Good luck with that, pal. And it's Friday. So less of the Andrew.
It is an issue, but I don't believe it's the biggest issue. I don't believe it has the major influence on the majority of UK citizens. Surely, that's the cuts implemented by this government. Even if you agree with Tory policy, it's impossible to argue they haven't had significant impact on the people of this country. Debate immigration by all means, but not at the expense of everything else, some of which has far more implications for the majority. Immigration isn't just top of the agenda, it's become the only agenda. That should not be the case. There are some very important issues within the immigration argument. Some communities feel they have completely lost their identity due to the amount of immigrants. Services are overrun because of the influx of people. Many other communities, like my own, may never see an immigrant in our every day lives. If we are to allow immigration, be that open door or controlled, and no political party is suggesting a complete ban, then plans must be put in place to disperse immigrants throughout the country so that just a few places don't feel the full brunt of it. But again, although this a big problem for some, it is a minority that are being affected, yet issues that affect us all don't receive anything like the same coverage or debate. Nothing wrong with making immigration an issue, but put it in the correct place in the list of issues that affect the people of this country, not at the top where it doesn't belong.
Immigration has been made an issue by those in power to deflect from the real cause of our current economic problems. Rich, white mainly British bankers who we continue to prop up at the expense of the old and the poor and the disabled. Immigration should be about number 567 on anyone's list of problems instead it's been made an issue by those who would rather us target immigrants than those who really caused the problems.
Brand is saying what a lot of people think but like it or not so is Farage. And you may not like him but there is a world of difference between Farage and Griffin and indeed between UKIP and BNP.
Political opinion is like arseholes, everybody has one and generally people dont always like other peoples.
But Farage is saying what those people think about one issue: immigration. Because there's no way on earth that all those people also believe in UKIPs Thatcherite economics. Two reasons for this view. One, most of the people who have an issue with immigration cite pressure on public services as the main reason. In which case it would make no sense to vote for a party who do not believe in investment in public services. Two. Anyone who is a sensible Thatcherite economist should be in favour of the free movement of labor because it was set up to aid free market capitalism. Which is why Nigel Farage is either not very bright, really doesn't like foreigners, or is so obsessed with one issue that he will pursue it at the cost of everything else he believes in.
An article from 12 months ago. This is what is forming opinions on immigration. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-return-Marble-Arch-aggressively-begging.html Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
its not just bankers bonuses, or immigration, or companies avoiding tax, or even hypocrites paying £100.000's a years to American offshore property companies to live in central London, its ALL OF THEM, they've all got to be fixed, and you watch how quick brand fecks off if they start super taxing and by the way I think hes as funny as anal warts, a poor mans michael macintyre
brand is a self publishing narcasistic wannabee, I don't think McIntyre is funny either, I think they're both gash and are stealing a living
That is possibly the funniest comment I've read on here. Ever. And Lee Mack's way funnier than Stewart Lee. And for good measure, Morecambe and Wise had **** all on Hale and Pace.
