Him that does nowt. Except break their play up, puts his foot on the ball, and rarely wastes a pass. Ideal foil for Hourihane. Thought Berry & Jennings got through some work too. Hope we can carry that into the league games, get some points on the board.
I thought our midfield did well, Berry especially. But Chester were *****, to be fair. I like Bailey. That's about all I can say. It seems he's either 'useless' or 'amazing' with everybody else.
You can only beat what's in front of you. Not sure how you get 'amazing' from what I've put there. Just think he's underrated. Keep him fit & playing and he'll develop imho
Berry was the stand out player for me tonight as he has been for a large part of the season. Bailey had a good game although his first in a while in my opinion.
Midfield looked much better yes but we have to counter that with what they were up against. I said earlier today that they had their chance at Oakwell and blew it. Never in any doubt the result. Job Well done
Played well but let's not read too much into it! Produce the same form in the league and it would be most welcome
Thought Bailey played well tonight. He gets a nose bleed when running towards the 18 yard box though.
I wasn't referring to thee. Was just generalising. It's either **** or **** hot with him, is how I've found the reactions to his performances. Which I find a bit strange because he's the most meh footballer we've got. I like him. Not sure the role he's played for us is actually his best position either, think he's got more to his game.
Last two games he`s played av seen him tackle and look to get forrard more, step int reight direction for me. Also Hourihane worked hard to get back and get goal side. Maybe someone is listening.
That's why I mentioned hoping we take it into the league. Long way to go yet. Although not sure why I feel the need to qualify owt positive.
A lot more to do with a settled four man midfield than Bailey's individual performance. Thought Berry was good up against a weak midfield, but you can only beat what's in front of you. Still don't see why he's so highly rated though, anonymous for large spells of the season
He goes by unnoticed because he does his job properly. The defence looks so much more sounds with him in it and because he sits in front of the back four nicely, it allows both Hourihane and Berry to shine a little more and the attacking midfielder, been Williams this season as well as Jennings, get forward and support the two strikers
Come on Loko, you're allowed to acknowledge he adds something to the team. Last week you argued that the fact we concede more goals when he's not in the team is entirely down to other factors. This week, when we play much better with him in the team, you argue his performance didn't add to that. I'm looking forward to the day he cracks one in to the top corner from 30 yards and someone gives the credit to the formation we were playing.
I like Bailey think he does a good job most of the time. Like mr Whitey I wouldn't put it stronger than that.
What was 'settled' about those 4 - first time they've played together since August/early Sept innit? Edit: I thought midfield did well last night - Hourihane and Bailey esp. seemed to take responsibility, which is all I ask for really. Work hard, don't shirk, produce some quality, and start to do it more consistently over time. It's not a leap forwards by any means, but I'm not dreading Saturday any more, so it's a step in the right direction.
Stat attack. League games when Bailey has played = 1.3 ppg When he's not played = 0.8 ppg Ipso facto he's worth 0.5 ppg on his own. FACT
