It seems pretty obvious to me that Danny's intention was to use a 4-4-2 with two out and out wingers in Treacy & Jennings.

I'd say at least 90% expected them two to be our key attacking players back in August.

He's had to mess about with the system due to them two been injured / unfit.

I'd say in an ideal world Danny wanted to start the season with the following team:

    Turnbull

    Brown Cranie Nyatanga Dudgeon

    Treacy Bailey Hourihane Jennings

    Cole Lita/Winnall

At this time I've no idea what his preferred team because we've never come close to a fully fit squad

Short term loan deals after the season started dont count for me. And he knew that treacy wasnt fit. Its not like hes had 4 weeks either. He took over about a year ago didnt he?
Hes ignored the wide areas and its costing us badly. He got rid of a load of players and went into this season with no right back, no right winger, two really unfit left wingers and a left back on loan for just 3 weeks. Its determined our tactics and has severely cost us

Obviously it is only my opinion, but I believe with a fully fit squad we do have players capable of playing 433/451. We could definitely do with a few extra players in key areas to really make the most of this system, but we have showed already this season that our current players are capable of adopting it.

I find it really difficult to see where your views on Wilson are coming from. He had to rebuild the entire squad in the summer and I would say its a certainty that he missed out on several targets before he ended up with the players we have now. I think he has done pretty well to bring in the players he has and with a bit more work and TIME he will get things right.

Wilson has brought in good hungry young players without breaking the bank and has introduced several very capable youngsters of our own.

I'm not saying Wilson is untouchable, but lets judge him on next season when you have had chance to see the fruits of his labor.

I've just moved to Yardley Wood mate. Mrs is from Solihull and couldn't convince her on sunny Barnsley.

    Where abouts are you?

Which players would you have kept that he released then ST?

And the lack of opportunity to recruit until August severely hampered us too but we're conveniently ignoring that.

Another BBS myth busted. I rate Bailey n all. He's not exactly Jovo Bosancic or owt, but I think he's decent. The only dissenting voice I've heard against him on here was Conan's, who I've decided just doesn't like central midfielders.

Moanman's whining doesn't count, as he was dropped on his head whilst a bairn by Ray McHale...

Balsall Heath at the moment, so not too far away! Soon there'll be enough of us to put a coach on...

Bailey is yet another victim of Wilsons tactics. With no real wingers and a midfield that consists of just two other players who dont have a clue where they are supposed to be playing he never has anyone to pass to so always ends up making the dreaded backwards pass.
