Congratulations Danny mate. Astonishing record that when you consider how many games he played as well as managed. And his playing career was cut short by injury. 97 goals too. Not bad for a kick 'em up in the air midfield player. One of his finest moments
Thank God for Tuesday, cause Danny certainly deserves to celebrate this milestone basking in the glow of a victory. Amidst recent frustrations, it's good to recall what he's done for us as a club. I will never forget 96-97 and 97-98 as long as I live. Hope this gets the appropriate recognition on Saturday.
I wonder how the parallel universe is going where Danny has been our manager for 1000 games. I might have to do a bit if random scribbling on that one. Non-League? Established Premiershit side or right where we are now?
Well done Danny Wilson. He will have had good and bad times in that long managerial spell, so the recent blip (I hope it is exactly this) will be well known to him.
It's all conjecture but I think that we'd have gone back up at the first attempt if he'd have stayed.
Well done Danny. No matter what happens in this spell, he will always be a legend to me. The 96/97 team was near perfect and will live with me until the day I die.
I'd like to see him add at least 200 more to that total with us, come what may. A proper football man, slowly getting us back to what I knew us to be only a short while ago - a proper football club.
