I might have missed the explanation, if ever one was given, but why has it taken so long? He may as well have stayed at Telford keeping his match fitness up and scoring for them.

Something about this move doesn't quite add up

Danny loves a non league striker. I expect him to feature if impressing in training/reserves. Especially next season.

 

Considering he's not played full time, we might have wanted to get him in to put him on a full time training regime. That could arguably be more important than match fitness.

They only train a couple of times a week. His fitness was a long way short of where it needed to be. Since he's been with us he's been training every day. I don't think it's such a bad thing he hasn't be able to play. He will have got up to speed without the pressure of needing to perform in training to get a place in the side. He could just get his head down and work hard. Now he's used the regime he can start trying to impress the manager.

I'm probably wrong here, but seeing as the lad was signed on a permanent contract outside the transfer window (as opposed to initially signing on loan, then making the deal permanent), isn't January 1st the first available date when he can play for Barnsley at any level?

 

I remember reading at the time that as he wasn't on professional terms he would be eligible immediately.

Probably a blessing in disguise like other people have already said gives him chance to get fit.

in that case he's one of the fastest in the league - he's also been training in right wing back position as well as up front... His natural position is right mid

 

I heard he was quick but i cant see him being quicker than Cole, i hope you're right and if so cant wait to see him play, shame he couldnt play against Chester would probably have played well. When the first home game for U21's in Jan? most likely time to see him?

 

be interesting to see how he truly adapts... hes certainly got a lot of potential.. he will need to get match fit thats for sure, shame about how hes been unable to play for such along time, but as previously stated could be a blessing.
