Well he's going to end up somewhere int he...he's done the time, all the best to him as far as I'm concerned. I did feel that when it looked like the blunts were going to re-sign him that a lot of folk were coming out and condemning the possibility to give themselves some publicity rather than due to strong feelings on the subject.

Really? Not that the majority of people are against a rapist being employed as a footballer?

What I dont get, yes he's done the time..... but served 2 of 5 years! I always thought (rightly or wrongly) that the lesser time was for well behaved inmates who show remorse for their crimes. Cheds not done the latter, even appealing now! How's that remorseful? He should be still in, not trying to engineer a way back in!

I'll never wish him all the best, not until he takes responsibility for what he did regardless of the outcome of any appeal he might get.

That was my take on it too ! How did he get early release if he accepted not responsibility?

Only he knows what happened that night, maybe his unwillingness to show remorse is because he feels there was an injustice.

Don't get me wrong, it could also be because people have been campaigning that he was innocent quite vigorously and he doesn't want to let them down.

Even if, and I think it is a big if, he wins any appeal his actions that night were sordid and wrong. If he had any decency he would show remorse for his actions but there isn't a shred of it from him. He's a morally bankrupt cretin and I hope he never plays football again.

It's not my place to judge whether a club should sign or not sign him. If Hartlepool sign him that's their business not mine. If I was a supporter of Hartlepool and he was playing for them I wouldn't go to watch them.

We've been through this before he 's only done half his time , and even IF ( a very big if) he could prove he's innocence, his best defence seems to be that he acted like a scumbag, who would wish him well?!! His girlfriend standing by him beggars belief frankly

No he hasn't. He's been released from prison but he's on parole and he's still serving his sentence on probation. If he breaks the terms of his probation he'll be taken back to prison to serve the rest of his sentence inside.

I still dont understand why a bigger deal wasnt made about the players who filmed themselves having sex with a drunk underage girl.

Everyone with a sentence over 12 years (with a set sentence rather than simply life) gets released after half of their sentence (evans served exactly half to the day when time in custody was taken into account) but anyone showing remorse and being well behaved and such like can get out 6 months earlier if a parole board allows them so in theory Evans could have been released even earlier. I wonder if he applied and got turned down.

As long as he doesn't sign for Barnsley I don't care where he goes.
