freezing cold probably had something to do with it. Also not helped by the club generating a stale going through the motions atmosphere around the ground before kick off. Tvs showing test card, toby wandering aimlessly, a pathetically bad looking santa strolling around with no interaction, broken scoreboard and **** pieces of music played on repeat so loud that everyone is sat in their seats wishing the day would end. The effect of all the above combined shouldnt be underestimated imo.
It's been poor in general this season. Like a morgue. A Liverpool fan mate of mine has suggested that I do a Liverpool game with him and he'll do a bfc game. I've suggested an away game.
Wasnt great but tbf it was freezing I bet there were a few season ticketers who gave it a miss plus everyone probley hungover after mad friday
The atmosphere is a reflection of the product on view and the general well being of the club. We'd all have to be on drugs to show any more feeling than the current state of affairs warrants Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The group of young lads who have attracted both criticism and praise have quietened down over the last few games and they tend to start most songs. On yesterday though, it was freezing, a pretty poor game off the back of three even worse home games and it was a smaller crowd. A recipe for no atmosphere. Expecting the opposite at Deepdale on Boxing Day.
Me and my mates were on the way to Athersley Rec v Worksop (worksop always bring lots of support at this level) but it were cancelled so Plan B put into operation ie went to watch Reds. It were dire as more atmosphere at a wake.
I was sat in the East Upper for the Chester game and it was like the north face of the Eiger up there. My mouth was so frozen I could barely talk, never mind sing. We'd joked that we weren't going to go again until it was a bit warmer. As there are no more scheduled discounts, that may actually be the case.
Of all the away games I've been to in the past, warm or cold, most home atmospheres are quiet. Yes you get the odd 3 or 4 in each league but English football racket is normally made away. I've been to five away games this season and all have been good atmosphere from our fans and relatively poor from the home end. That's just how it is. Some people will then counter that and say 'yeh but why can't it be like abroad where home fans are loud'. Away fans dont travel so there would be no such thing as singing or chanting if the home fans don't sing and that only occurs in Germany. Look at the dire atmosphere in La Liga. Away fans don't travel and the home fans don't sing.
Yeah no Soccer Saturday on the brand new TVs so they might as well have been switched off, but club are probably just happy they were switched on even though they were just showing the pitch at half time and before the game. Dunno why they are playing the Sky Sports tune shortly before kick off for. It's no relevance to us and I doubt it's a manadatory thing for playing in the Sky Bet league. They started the Rocky/Balls Of Steel tune so late that they had no chance to play Timerider so they came out of the tunnel to no noise. Few bother clapping when they first come out because they do that pointless handshaking with the opponents staged managed crap. It's also upto the players to get the fans behind them and performances at home all season have rarely been upto scratch.
Half arsed effort on the pitch reflected in indifference in the crowd. There was a 5 minute spell where we got stuck in, Bailey and Jennings made some good runs and the atmosphere lifted. Then it was back to 2nd gear and everyone went back to sleep.
