Why do you think Derby got Rid of Him

Very average player unlike Treacy who has ability but just can't be arsed

My view is that he doesn't really demand the ball as much as someone playing that position should. Not sure about his range of passing either. Mostly, it's short stuff back to Ramage or Cranie. Maybe that's a confidence thing, as I do think he has some ability.

That's a bit flawed because Derby must have seen summert in him in first place to bother giving him a contract

My problem with him is that he seems to be a "win a bit nicer" footballer. In games where we are already on top he might look good and spray some nice passes about, but when we're having a tough time and he doesn't have as much time on the ball he looks shaky. He plays well due to us being on top, but he doesn't do much to get us a foothold in games or take things by the scruff of the neck. This is the opposite of what you need in his role, especially playing alongside someone like Hourihane who gets forward a lot.

To be fair I expected him to play further forward than he is at the moment. Never really seen him as a holding midfielder.

Agree, our worst player in the first half, constantly dilly dallying on the ball when in possession / giving it away
