It snowed 3 days ago -the suns out -the club have made absolutely no effort at all -player safety my fuc king arose I have never heard a game called off for this in my life - well done bulls hit Ben thas done it again - made the club a fuc king embarrassment - joke of a club run by jokers themselves - disgrace no other word for it -well other than hopeless clueless feckless idiots that they are
Correct. The club apologists will be along in a bit to justify this. I'm looking forward to the Spin Dr's statement though.
Give over lad, you'll make yourself ill. An embarrassment? Because loads of folk around the world really care if Barnsley vs. Oldham actually gets played. Happy with the decision personally, and I'm sure others are (as I'm sure there are others that aren't). If Donny can play these kind of games, then so should we. This benefits us in the long run surely?
They'll have taken advice about the weather as well - temperatures drop and pitch freezes and roads become more dangerous - they say don't travel if unnecessary - is thousands travelling to a match necessary? I'm gutted - not many night games I can manage
Of course it's an embarrassment. Every club in the league bar one can get their match on. We have an extra 29 hours and still can't manage it.
The games been called off for player safety reason. It wont benefit us in the long run when we're under investigation for failure of our under soil heating.
Disagree. The game is scheduled to play today and if BFC had made any bit of effort to get the game on, it would be on. Fact is, we have done absolutely **** all to get the game played and don't give a toss about the fans. Got to agree with the OP and my opinion is that our Club is being managed badly and in a small minded way. Today is yet another reason why I continue to weaken my ties to BFC.
Look at pic on official site - pitch is covered in snow yet "we have had understood heating on since boxing day " bull fecking **** Ben - bullnshit
The majority of those clubs/towns/cities didn't even have any bad weather though. Not like the weather was national, and South Yorkshire was the worst hit. I didn't see the BBC reporting on any other area of the country on Boxing Day having cars stranded and people sleeping in cars overnight. I'm not embarrassed.
We've called a game off before 12pm, how is that not giving a toss about the fans? I'd understand if we made the announcement at 6pm. Good chance this game now gets played at 3pm on a Saturday once we're knocked out of the FA Cup (if our opponents are still in it). I'd much prefer that.
Yes he does. Just can't understand why there is still snow on the pitch 3 days after the fall. Would have thought clearing it first before putting undersoil heating on would surely have given it the 'best chance' and not just leaving it to ice up, and freeze the top soil
I'm glad, saved mi sen £46 and when we play rearranged match we'll hopefully have our key players back plus a few extra additions.
When has a game EVER been called off for player safety? Fact is the club haven't had heating on with any intention of playing tonight -it's just more spin from ben that's clearly not true - I'm struggling to think of one thing he says that's true
I hope we have a few extra suspensions and injuries plus oldham having bought a couple. It might be a bit spiteful of me but i wnt the club to go away from this thinking "****. If only we had put an ounce of effort in bac in december".
Are you kidding? Loads of occasions. Last time at Oakwell I can think of was in Feb 2012 when Birmingham City were due to visit. That was called off by the ref also.
Gally, you know full well that BFC could have cleared the snow from the pitch and then put the under-soil heating on. Snow was not forecast the last 2 days, so we would have been OK to do this, with little risk. Fact is, snow is still on the pitch, so yes, player safety is the reason. In reality, we should be looking at a green and perfectly payable pitch, with a gritted ice free surrounding area.
