They have done wrong by allowing a game that SHOULD have gone ahead to be cancelled. People might be happy due to their own personal circumstances - this does not mean the decision is correct, merely convenient.

I'm sorry to hear about that but I'm sure they arent the only people who have travelled so far to watch a match or any event to find out its been cancelled, it happens.

What I dont understand is why people who go to every match(or claim to) are moaning cos they'll be there for rearranged match.

Seems strange reading all the posts that the ones who are taking umbridge are the ones who wanted to go to the game, wanted to watch BFC play footie and even be freezing cold in the process. Many posts i read supporting the cancellation seem to be the ones who didn't really wanna go anyway, its too cold to sit out etc. I know Thereev even takes the Panto as priority over the club but are there really so many fair-weather supporters here?

All your opinion again. Unless you've all the facts to hand. It's gonna be freezing again by kick off, are you understanding that? Or is it just that you'd be ok because you just have a short walk to the ground?

It's nowt to do with being a fair weather fan. If it was on I would have gone. But for the safety of ALL concerned it's the right decision IMO.

How would you have got to the game tonight icer?

How do you know it SHOULD have gone ahead? That's pure speculation.

What's the difference between personal convenience and personal safety? I think the comments about the temperature being bad at 10pm tonight and not fancying the drive are more about safety than convenience.

You're still talking about convenience or inconvenience. The distance anyone else has to travel to the game is not the reason why it's been called off. You don't want to travel 50 miles to the ground, and I appreciate that, but that's nothing to do with why the game should have gone ahead or not.

I'm talking about safety of all not convenience. And im discussing why i think its ultimately the right decision that's been made. But we'll never agree so let's leave it. I'll just presume you do only have a short walk to the ground.

I do have a short walk but that's not why I think it should have gone ahead.

It could be a lot worse tonight. As I posted yesterday morning, in my area of Leeds all the snow had melted completely but yesterday evening everywhere was covered in frost and our car skidded twice getting of off our street. With it being a night time game, the conditions later on had to be taken into account too.

I don't think that they did "make the trip over so their kids could be mascots", i think they came over to spend Christmas with family and it just so happened that we were due to play Oldham whilst they were here so they decided for their kids to be mascots. I'm sure they'll be disappointed but they didn't make the trip just for the game.

I don't think for a second that they'd be coming just for that(they're be dafter than us then!). But they must have a few disappointed kids on their hands, aswell as the parents. Living where they do they must be thinking 'hang on!', 2 inches of snow 72 hrs ago?!? Why the fuss

They'll definitely be thinking that regarding the snow - but they'll also know just how incapable we are as a country of coping with it.

Imagine my thoughts walking over the tops at midnight on Boxing Day having left my car, knowing that exactly a year earlier I'd been driving round Canada with the weather at -65 (colder in Winnipeg than on the moon that day).

Good to read that Laurie has looked after them though so they're not disappointed.
