Why do I think the game should have gone ahead? Because it was arranged for this day months ago and the club should have done everything possible to make sure it went ahead. Everyone in the league apart from The Blunts and Accrington have had a home fixture over the Christmas period. Very disappointing. Will I be going to the rearranged game? Well I have a season ticket and I won't be working so I should be there. Unless apathy gets the better of me.
I'm smart, that's why. I haven't called any one person a knobhead, have I? It was a general insult. I've called none of you, anything. I never do. It's clever. The knobheads will know who they are. However, I did start the thread by saying I might be banned. And if enough of you report the thread, I'm sure Gally et al will act upon it. I doubt I'll be banned for it though. Because the admin on here will probably agree with me. Not because I know em, or because we're in a cliqué, but because what I've said is about reight. As I said before, it's quite striking how it's the same Danny Out suspects, or perpetual BBS moaners who are acting like knobheads over a bloody game of football being postponed. Knobheads.
You claim to go to every match, how many times have you gone to away matches just to be called off in last hour??? As i say, it happens...
As I've already said, yesterday the games were played in the AFTERNOON, this one is in the EVENING. Are you really so stupid that you don't understand the differences in temperature and conditions between 3pm and 7:45pm? Sheffield United was the closest game to us since the snow fell on boxing day, giving it the most similar conditions. It was called off. Grow up and stop moaning for once in your miserable life.
That's what according to the Huddersfield Examiner today Huddersfield Town did to get their game against Bolton on. They came in on the morning of the 27th after the bad boxing day weather to get an headstart on the clear up job and so it wouldn't be as icey. They brought in extra heaters to help with the pitch too.
The game was never in doubt. Jacob reckoned it was good to play on, a little firmer than usual. It was played in the afternoon though which helped.
I've had no say on the postponement at all but reading this thread is hilarious. Whitey, free speech means people are allowed to express their opinions without being subjected to this kind of abuse. All you're doing is sinking to their level with a self righteous, sanctimonious and patronising rant, which is highly abusive and totally out of order. I very much doubt you will be banned but I wonder if one or two others would be if they'd posted this kind of abuse...
You have to take into consideration that those numbers are just a guide. Sheltered places will be lower, in some cases significantly so. The sun will have barely make any impact on the pitch given how low it is in December and the fact the ground has stands surrounding it. Even during the day that cold air will sit on the pitch and not move. I'd be surprised if the air temperature was much above zero inside the ground during the 'waemest' part of the day. The other considerations are the effect of running the undersoil heating over a long period of time. I guess it risks damaging the pitch, it's really a bit more complex than flicking a switch and waiting for it to be playable. Again the low temperatures can negate the effects of the heating.
No, it doesn't. It means that people can say what they want, it doesn't mean people have to listen to it and accept it. Free speech also means I can say someone's being a tw@t when I think they are, again, doesn't mean anyone has to listen to me.
Highly abusive? LOL. To subject them to 'this kind of abuse' I'd have had to have directly abused them. I've done no such thing. I've suggested a few on here have reacted like first class knobheads. Free speech and all that..
