Yup. No baths or showers for me this month. I'm going to fester in my own filth.

No. I don't drink much for the majority of the year. The six weeks or so from Xmas to the first week of February are the only period where I do drink.

No, as a Barnsley fan I expect I'd probably fail sometime around Saturday teatime.

In the interests of being a bit more supportive I should probably confess that I have in fact taken Ocsober (sic) off the booze for the last 4 or 5 years. It can be quite an eye-opener in many ways to take a decent bit of time out. I find the first 3 days are easy, then it's tough for a week, then it's just dull. But it's worth sticking with.

I actually had what I think was my first dry New Year's Eve last night (well, since I was 18, you know). That was weird.

    Bon courage.

Not really an issue for me as I drink infrequently and feel all the better for it.

    Might try it Mr B.

I haven't had much alcohol at all this Xmas due to the anti-biotics for this blasted flu.

Did it last year and the year before.

Will be doing it this year as well.

Have had a fairly dry christmas period as I have been quite ill from Christmas day through to yesterday

A friend of mine just did a dry 12 months for cancer research.

You may think its not too hard but given how much of a lover of alcoholic lubrication he has been over the years its been quite an achievement.

He is on Calender News tomorrow to talk about it

I think if I took a whole year off I'd probably not schedule anything for the following week. Maybe longer.
