Its a good move for both really! Gerrard hasnt been at his best for a few years now and this season it's showing! He gets picked for them because of who he is and what he gave them for many years! I cant wait to see how liverpool will fair without him!

I agree - not at his best - their poorest performances have been with him in the team this year

Most miserable, boring footballer on the planet.....has anyone seen him smile yet?............his voice is one long drone
He's had the same hairstyle for 34 years

His mistakes cost us in the World Cup
He cost Liverpool the title last season

He's past his best and I'm no Liverpool fan but anybody who says he hasn't been a fantastic player for club and country knows nowt about football in my opinion. Admittedly more for club than country but he's been superb for Liverpool over his career, and loyal, which is a rare commodity these days

As loyal as Rooney. Put in a transfer request to go to Chelsea to get a few more quid.

Allegedly. That may be the case but he could have moved on every 2/3 years and made a fortune and he chose to stay put. That's as loyal as it gets these days

He has been a fantastic player for Liverpool and has carried them on his own at times - he's being called the best Liverpool player of all time . As someone who was lucky to witness Liverpool in the 70 ' s and 80's I wouldn't go that far

I disagree. Yes he's past his best and probably isn't up to the standard of a top 4 team any more.

But I still feel he's chosen in the Liverpool squad week in week out because he's still their best option in that position. A lot of Liverpool fans I know are saying the same. He's past his best but he's still head and shoulders above some of the frankly average players they have in their squad at the moment.

He wasn't on minimum wage at Liverpool. He made his fortune at Anfield.

Don't think he is the best anymore at Liverpool - Firstly because they actually don't know what is position is at the minute and secondly their best results have been when he hasn't actually played

Not bad for the best player to ever play for Englands most successful club.

My favourite non-BFC player. At his best he was unbelievable. Amazing goals, crunching tackles, raking passes, never stopped running. That last minute goal in the best FA Cup final I've seen. Every blade of grass in Istanbul. He could completely dominate games and almost single handedly drove a poor team to win trophies. I don't think there's a position he couldn't have played.

Maybe so. But will they ever win anything again, Champions League in 05 excepted?
