What about the other times I did see him, you know, lots of times where he's done **** all? Is it fairer of you to base your judgement on one good game, or me to judge him on 18? It's my opinion that he's been awful thus far and contributed very little for what I would assume was our 'marquee' signing in the summer.

I'm not saying he's ****, or that he's this or that in a negative sense, but his deterioration in form/goals/quality over the last few years would suggest to most folk that he's in decline and a busted flush.

I hope he proves my doubts wrong. I really do. I fully support him in doing so at the game, as I do every player. But I've been waiting four months now.

    I wouldn't. Life goes on.

Hemmings has performed no better than Lita.

I was really impressed with Oates against Preston. Put himself about without being a headless chicken, and had a really good touch always looking to bring the wide players in to the game. Great leap on him as well.

I'd say he has. He's not set the world alight, but I prefer him of the two.

Oates is an old fashioned centre forward. Hope he gets a go tomorrow.

There's been times when Hemmings hasn't even looked like a footballer mate. I totally accept the step up in quality that he's making, but for me he doesn't have the basic attributes and instinct of a striker. I'd love him to be scoring for fun, but he spends big portions of the game looking like he's asleep, seems to lack pace and the ability to beat a man. Great ball for Hourihane's goal though, however was poor for the rest of the game.

I'd start Oates and Lita tomorrow.

I'd agree about Hemmings. To me I've not seen much to enthuse about. I'm not gonna write him off though, maybe he'll make strides next season, big step he's made from p/t football in the Scottish leagues.

Lita has also been a massive disappointment but I have been surprised with his work ethic in his last few appearances.

Oates and Lita for me too for tomorrow.

Didn't we only sign Hemmings on a one year deal? I don't think he warrants a new contract if I'm honest (and assuming I've got that right).

Danny obviously rates him though. As soon as he was fit he started getting starts, and even when his form has been poor and I've watched games completely pass him by he's been picked the following match.

I thought it was 2 years, but could be wrong. Big decision if it is only 1 year.

Has Leroy really started 18 matches?

    10. And 8 sub appearances. To Hemmings' 9 starts and 11 sub appearances.

I'd play Oates up top on his own and flood midfield, get Digby in there. But I know nowt.

I've not seen this ***** Hemmings that others have. I've seen him have good and bad games, like Lita. But I've been more impressed with the former especially considering the difference in their age/careers/wages etc.

Won't be discussing it anyway once Sam returns and either Oates, Phenix or a new forward turns up. Because that'll be Lita done.

    How much is Lita on?

    You tell me.

But do you reckon he's one of our high or low earning players?

Not a clue. He's experienced and you could argue that he's earned the right to be on high wages. However wasn't he without a club when we signed him? Unemployed and unable to find a club for 3 months after Swansea got rid. When we signed him he hadn't started a game of football for 15 months so there is also the argument that he had lost his way, was unwanted and desperate to get his career back on track and from that point of view his wages would be expected to be low surely.

Basically I don't know but I dont think that the idea that he's an high earner is as cut and dry as people think.

You haven't seen him play 18 games though. I imagine you've seen him play half at most. Most of them as short cameo appearances.

Didn't say I'd seen all 18, live. Just that I'd form an opinion, base a judgment on his 18 games rather than the one. As it goes, I've seen very little of him live. I've only seen him start twice. And once on the TV against Chester. Seen him as a sub 6 times. So aye, little to go on. The more we discuss this topic the more I feel harsh for suggesting he's a busted flush. I understand he was out of the side on merit when Winnall and Cole were firing, but I now see that he's had few real opportunities. Trouble is, when he's had opportunities in starts against MK, Vale, PNE and Chester, he's failed.

I initially stated that I'd prefer to see Hemmings, Phenix or Oates start ahead of him. Perhaps my earlier statements were harsh, but I have to be honest and I stand by what I said in regards to preferring those others getting a chance.

Lita - 818 minutes played, in 6 wins, 5 draws and 7 defeats, scoring twice.

Hemmings - 843 minutes played, in 7 wins, 4 draws and 7 defeats, scoring twice.

Stats not including Tinpot Trophy apps/goals. Soz, Kane.

    Nowt between em.

Maybe you're right. But I'd expect him to be earning much more than Kane Hemmings.

Just as I imagine Keith Treacy to be earning more than Luke Berry.

In truth, we've hardly seen anything of Lita or Hemmings in a regular striking role have we? It was up to the manager to decide which one to go for and then stick with him. I don't really know what Leroy did wrong after the Doncaster match, as he put a great shift in. Yet, Danny more or less dropped him straight afterwards. It would appear he isn't any closer to making a decision than we are - he's merely trying to muddle through until Winnall returns.

Treacy played 30+ games for the Championship winners last season, so he'll definitely be on more than Luke Berry.

Lita wasn't in the same luxury position (without repeating SuperTyke's comments), so you're comparing apples with oranges there.

Who cares now mind. Kiwomya, Winnall, Oates and Phenix will fire us to mid table obscurity. Easy

Lita was pulling 18 grand a week at Swansea. According to a Wednesday journo when they had him on loan.

But tha reight, we move on. I hope he grabs a hatful today.
