Must be a **** up otherwise we'd have left him there scoring/playing I assume, before signing him today.
Could have signed him on loan till january with a permanent contract going through when the window opened and played him straight away (like other clubs did) but instead elected to sign him permanently straight away with his registration locked at telford till the window opens
We seem to just bring players in and give em 3 months to get fit whilst paying em good coin and letting em tek places in the team before this fitness is achieved. Been doing it for seasons narr.
The only place ive seen that mentioned is in speculation on here with people saying maybe the rules are different if its a conference player etc but ive not seen that mentioned anywhere but on here/at the matches and other conference sides have sent players out to football league clubs. Even those pillocks in dee dar land signed a none league player and coukd play him straight away and telfords wes baynes left the club a few weeks ago and has already played for the club he moved to.
I believe it was always known he wouldn't be eligible until months after signing. In an interview several months ago Danny stated that they wanted him training with the team day in day out which would be a big step forward from him training twice a week non league style. I presume he needed to commit to full time contract to enable that to happen. I remember Danny specifically saying although a down side for him would be he wasn't playing, the upside was he could step up fitness and work with the team a la preseason style
Ben Mansford mentioned that in his programme notes that the rules are different at sub Conference level hence why Williams could go straight into the squad.
