to make things right in the world again. i'm back on an even keel now. we're still $hit, but it's just a game, innit..
Great to hear the beasties in the ground today, ended up discussing them with Mario and my nephew. And now you mention them. I love them. Done some cracking stuff that people wouldn't expect from them, including an entirely instrumental album.
People associate them with 1 song (fight for the right - which is a reyt tune anyway to my ears) and assume all their music is like that. They are actually a very talented bunch musically, with great variety.
I actually get that kind of reaction with springsteen, usually people's knowledge is the Born in the USA album which is the one i rarely listen to,
Legends the Beastie Boys, my mates put on their rapper Hurricane at Leeds Warehouse in the early 90's & I met a couple of them. Were top blokes. They were massive Curtis Mayfield fans, who I'd met in the 80's, so I think I impressed them with some stories over beer & smokes. Gotta be Sabotage for me ...
I heard Licensed to Ill, but it never really grabbed me. Was only about 12 and I think I just thought 'Fight for your right' was a bit of a joke song. Then I heard this when I was about 15 on MTV...POW! RIP MCA!
