Not that anyone will give a ****

But I'm quitting the BBS. I'll keep my profile dormant as I'm proud of my time served. And in the hope, one day I may feel the need to return.

I joined the BBS around 10 years ago and have indulged in its mysterious attraction on a daily basis. I even got laid because of it's very existence (consent was obtained).

However, in recent months it's become a real chore to wade through the swathes of drivvle, point scoring, sometimes juvenile without reason or forethought, inane sh*te that some folk post. To find a genuine footy based thread for the very purpose why this board exists is becoming nigh on impossible.

Even match days are now littered with abuse, not helping the greater cause moans and groans.

I don't have the luxury of getting to many games, my life has led me away from Gods own county so I relied on the BBS to keep my Oakwell quota up. I'm not a regular poster but enjoyed it when I did.

However, the delights of The Full Ponty's and Whitey's Twitter musings are a more attractive proposition. To say their rambling are more grown up is really saying something.

So, fellow posters, Happy New Year to you all, up the Reds and all that.

I know what you mean, my first thought after we've lost a match is 'oh god the bbs is going to be horrendous'. I echo Fired's comment about your thread being the funniest on here though!

 

It'll be a shame you say some funny and intelligent stuff.

 

As others have said it will be a shame to lose a balanced and reasonable poster, we need more not less.

 

I agree with you mate , definitely gone downhill on here. No fun to be had at all.
You have to explain everything you say because it seems that everyone thinks you`re a liar , I think you can only judge people by your own standards and it seems that some on here have very low standards and care about no-one other than themselves!

Everybody is missing the key issue here. How did you get laid because of the BBS? And was biglil as good in the sack as madmark says he is?

 

I had a sensible football debate with TFP last week. It felt awful.

 

It used to be quite the pulling school back in the old chat room days.

No, it was sensible, reasoned discussion. It felt cheap and I felt conned.

 

That's a fair point actually. Back before the BBS only had weird old women like fired and jamdrop on it. And with that I am running away very very quickly as I'm pretty sure both could beat me up.
