All sounds great, but it doesn't work in reality. The old trickle down effect. Its a load of rubbish. What is actually happening is the poor (inc Middle England) are subsidising the rich.
Well done that man - a man able to apologise on here is a rare man indeed. As for the - I have actually spoken to a black man - that was a joke - hence the I do not consider myself racist - but I have to say that the people of Yorkshire and especially Barnsley are the best people I've met in the world. And in my opinion there is only a very small percentage of people in this country that are racist - I don't think there is any on this message board. Regarding the poor. I have what maybe considered analogies to describe this. When relief workers visit starving areas of Africa they are told to feed the starving mother before feeding the mothers starving children. Save the mother - because if she is strong she can then look after the people in her care. When you fly, the air stewards give a presentation on safety - they ask people with children to put their own oxygen mask on first before attending to people that are in their care. That is to say - if the strong die then there is no hope for the weaker people of society. Yes, it would be good to have an independent Scotland if that's what they want up there. Only drawback is that this will allow the Tories in England to dominate - which will unbalance the political power in the rest of Britain.
Aye sorry for jumping the gun with you and I do agree with you and your analogies of save the strongest first. I also agree over the people of Barnsley who over the past 8 years or so of visiting have I have found to be the salt of the earth. Got to say I've had the privilege of meeting many and some have become very good friends. I find many similarities in the people of Barnsley and of Dundee both good friendly working class people. Racism in Britain although not a major problem ATM is a growing problem and this has to be adressed, and voting Ukip will not help. Well that is my opinion anyway. As for the SNP. No way would they ever side with the Torys. The SNP will still pose the same threat to the Torys as Labour would do. They would just make sure that Scotland is listened to by those at Westminster.
You're a brave man for watching it. I'd have put my foot through the TV. Yes, there is an element of envy - I'd love that kind of money. But I think the envy is knowing I could so much more with it than they seem to do. How much is enough? Why do billionaires feel the need to give multi-million pound gifts to their wife as a 'present' to avoid it being taxed, when the interest alone on the money they already would allow them go live like royalty anyway? With a few notable exceptions, the super-rich seem to be vile human beings. Maybe that's a prerequisite on amassing a fortune?
Re: You're a brave man for watching it. Exactly Gaz. When is enough enough. For most people acquiring £1m would be life changing. A further £1m would be nice but not have anything like the impact of the first £1m. You would need to get up to a Euro million level for the next change where you could buy a plane..etc If you are one of the super rich your fortune would be of a level where you couldn't possibly spend it, you only have one mouth to eat and only need a certain level of andrex. Perhaps in the game it is who can boast the highest number in the obituary column. A bit sad really
