The first since Christmas. More paper and cardboard than at any other time of the year. The bin men haven't turned up. And it's blowing a gale. All the blue bins and all the white sacks have blown over and the whole street and everyone's garden is knee deep in rubbish. And it's raining, so it's all soaking wet through.

Can't wait to pay my council tax this month.

The councils waste collection collection service has been can absolute joke for the last year its a case of put your bin out and just sit and wait for a few days while they get round to emptying it

How many bins do you have?

I've got a blue bin, brown bin, green bin, grey bin and a white bag. That's around a thousand litres of space for one person.

our blue bin day was monday, it did the main road off ours but probably didn't feel ours needed emptying
numerous calls later and told just to leave bins out and maybe they'll turn up, or hope it just blows over.... literally!
wonder how long it takes them the nasty letter for not paying council tax?

They didn't turn up for our bottle bin over Xmas. All street left their bins out for a week, they never came. Everyone's a alcoholic over Xmas so they're rammed. Emailed waste management they claim the bin men came and the next collection is now 27th Jan, she was a cocky cow an all on the email. I told them to send someone to the estate to see everyone's full bin and ask residents if they've been and they'll confirm. She asked me if I'd like a copy of the collection dates sending I replied "no we have an Internet collection and if you don't come out all the ****ing glass is going in the normal bin"

They're sending a missed bin collection now.

Its brown bin day up here and although they did turn up it wasn't until late morning and by then loafs had blown over spilling glass, some which broke, all over the road and paths.

They told me mine had been collected when I called a few months ago too. I asked him if that was the case then why when they are supposed to be cutting costs did they employ somebody to sort through the bin lorry and put all the rubbish back into peoples bins after they had just emptied them. When he asked what I meant I just said that if they had emptied them then some fcuker had followed the lorry round filing them all back up again with exactly the same rubbish.

Think yourself lucky I average a bin collection every three weeks. Which given I live in an apartment block with a dozen others in makes sense.

The post Christmas rush had both biffa bins full. Same again on the floor and you couldnt see recycling bins for backs of stuff

Our blue bin collection will be next Tuesday. Crystal always puts the appropriate full bin out for collection as she's going off to work, but then expects me to bring it back in when it's emptied!

Those white sacks are a joke, I used it once...I now put paper in my kitchen bin which then goes in the grey bin.

This statement will no doubt cause great offence on here.

I wrote a rather long email to the council a few months ago when the bin men decided that people in Broomhill didn't need sleep, so came round collecting bins at 5.45am for about 12 weeks consecutively. Obviously the collection of bins, is a quiet event but the fact that the men themselves slammed every bin wround like 10 pins, it went down like a **** sandwich on our street.

When we challenged them on the european noise polution regulations, the lady emailed back and said it doesnt matter them, the council is above these rules.

After that they came for one week at 9am then the following 3 weeks at 6am again, then they didnt bother coming at all for about a month.

    Pile of cnuts.
