I was at the game. I say he was a pointless signing merely because we have our own young striker in Oates who we happened to recall.
No because we've just signed 2 new strikers and Phenix can play upfront. Seriously just accept you made a ridiculous comment

No you said he was a pointless signing. So pointless he scored a goal and set up Hourihane to win the penalty.
Yes which is my opinion, and he was quiet first half, fact. I'm glad he scored and set up a goal, and I hope he can emulate that next week at Donny. Hopefully Wilson sends Oates back out on loan, I like the look of him, holds it up well, big, strong and puts himself about, in the same mould as Waring, both young, Oates is ours, which is why I formed that opinion.
He was quiet first half, that's what I meant by fact. My opinion is that he's a pointless signing because of reasons I have given.
But how does the fact that he had a quiet half of football make him a pointless signing. If he delivers the goods, he'll be far from pointless. He put a shift in against a very physical side who gave him a good kicking. Considering the conditions and their game plan, he did very well to contribute what he did. I response to the OP, Pearson looks class. If the killer ball isn't on, he ensures we retain possession. Wants the ball at every opportunity and isn't afraid to advance up the field given the chance. The most promising looking signing on today's evidence.
looked to have all the traits of a junior paul scholes. if he turns out to be a quarter as good, we've got a cracker..
I enjoyed watching him looked a different level to anyone on the field other than Holgate who was fantastic when moved inside.
I didnt say he was a pointless signing because of his first half performance, if it came across that way then I can only apologise.
