Barely any more came after my initial count, maybe another 30 at a push. There was never 156 there today, must have included their players and Ross Turnbull, as it could be argued that they were spectators too.
Tried counting away fans and struggled to get to 100. Going from 3,366 to 156 must be one of the biggest ever drops of away followings from one game to the next we've ever had. Should have put them in the west stand and kept ourselves from opening every side.
i never understand why they dont put away fans in west stand when its a small crowed they did it last season with a team ( i think it was yeovil then aswel) but thats when they gave a couple thousand tickets our to schools and they went in north stand
Bit harsh. Quite a few circumstances would dictate that. They're bottom of the league, with just about the worst away form in the league, if not the worst. But more to the point, it was a fecking horrible day with high forced winds, which were forecast, as well as the low temp and rain storms, and quite a lot chose not to make a 500 mile round trip, at great expense, just after Christmas and new year. If they brought 100 + I'd applaud them. Had we been away at Yeovil today we may have taken more then 150. Not by many though, I'd wager.
Can't blame them though. Small town, probably a 5 hour journey, horrendous weather, bottom of the league & most folk are skint after Christmas. I know I wouldn't make the same journey unless it was a crucial game
Don't get me wrong the fans that made the journey deserve bloody medals but regardless of circumstances it was a poor turnout. Less than 100 in our away end looks awful. I just wonder how many 'fans' would have made the trip to Manchester had they got a replay and that's not knocking Yeovil fans specifically but fans of lower league sides in general. I'm pretty certain that Gary Johnson would have ranked our game above the Man Utd game in order of importance.
