Here's one that just about sums up the situation really and you have to wonder what Danny was thinking of when he gave him that two year contract. I suppose he thought he could change him. He was wrong... "There are a couple of schools of thought on this. Some give him a chance, and blame everybody else for him being as unprofessional as its possible to be. Most think he's a fat waster who stole a living from us for three years, and has somehow got another two year deal somewhere else."
Whoops! Were those written yesterday? Very astute those Burnley fans it would seem. Perhaps DW thought he could nurture him. Some pay off (Vaz Te), some don't Hopefully his contract isn't that lucrative and he's not overly cash 'raping' us for what, upto now, we've had in return. Still potentially 18mths left with us and he realises what a priveleged position he's in and pulls his fat finger outta his even fatter ar5e!
Danny didn't like Paddy, released him, then signed a fatter, less talented (by a mile) version, on a two year deal. I know all managers drop a bollock in the transfer market but this one is up there with Keith Hill and Mido.
Cant believe I forgot to put Paddy in my best Championship 11 earlier. What a footballer. It is a bollock dropped. But I dont think he'd have signed anyway.
Not only would I select McCourt in my favourite Championship XI 2006-2014, I'd have him in my personal Barnsley All Time Favourites XI.
Each to their own. All about opinions. He's not featured in the thread yet. Maybe others have 'forgot to put him in'.
Besides from a few moments of brilliance (which I won't forget) his Barnsley career was distinctly forgettable.
True. There used to be an old bloke used to go in Gilroyd club who insisted Graham Pugh was a much more talented player than Ronnie Glavin. Like me, he was a Billy No Mates.
Not surprised to read this about Treacy the robbing, fat get. Sad thing, someone else will be gullible enough to think they can get the best out of him and he will get another contract at a decent level. Funny owd game, innit?
