He was on the bench but didn't come on the field against Aldershot, Colchester, Aldershot again and Notts County, he got 4 minutes against Scunny, then was back to being an unused sub against Fleetwood. He was in the match day squad for every one of Rochdale's games in December, but got 4 minutes.

He's not been in the squad for the games in January, so I guess that's where the injury and illness comes in, but he was for the whole of December and Keith didn't use him.

Strange that the same manager didn't develop him whilst he was here

Good luck to the lad. He will need it. Especially if there are any members of the God Squad at Dale that he happens to talk to.

And is that saying DW won't develop him?

I think he's carried a lot of pressure since the day he made his debut away at Ipswich, but good luck to the lad! He was never quite good enough for me, came on now and again and scored the odd wonder goal but he was never a 90 minute man.

They were down to the bare bones. He had a niggling injury but it was being managed with injections etc. I'm assuming that's why he wasn't used. Keith won't be the first manager to put a player on the bench who isn't 100%. Danny picked McLaughlin at Wigan last season and admitted afterwards that he was injured. He picks Treacy now and again n al....

Reuben recovered around Christmas but then came down with a bug which has affected a few of their players since new year.

I agree with you though, he's not exactly selected him much. He never did when our manager either.

Good move for him? Dunno. But I wish him well in his future endeavours.

It wasn't, no. I was referring to Hill and his propensity for developing broken toys etc.

But actually, yep. Danny won't develop him. Because he's getting shut so doesn't want to.

Who picked Treacy? Is this you again suggesting Danny didn't sign certain lads?

Sad news, but as a few have said, probably best all round. A fresh start might be just what he needs to kickstart his career.

I'm sure he's got it in him to become a very good footballerbut it seems as though every time he got in the team and was playing well, a niggling injury would keep him out, preventing him from having the run he needed. Whether that was anything to do with him playing mens' football since beimg a child I don't know, bur being pushed so much in his years of growth can't have helped. I think Davey did him more harm than good, and it seems that lessons have been learnt with the way Digby and Bree have been protected.

Hopefully Ben's been astute enough to put a few clauses into any deal as Reuben's got the potential to make money for someone.

Please pass these goodwill messages on if you get the chance Whitey. From what I've heard, he seems to have a genuine affinity to Barnsley and he ought to get a good reception as and when he returns.

Did he have Hourihane, Berry, Winnall suggested too?
