I thought it was a bad signing. It has been. But I still expected goals from him at this level. Four months, 17 games without a goal. It's not good enough and he's not given Danny a headache, because Winnall will go straight back in once fit. Just hope we didn't give him a 2 year deal like Treacy.
Bangs for bucks..........must be the worst return in our squad. Not that we give him much to make a living on. He rarely squanders chances cos we hardly make any for him.
Good point that. But why did Winnall/Cole manage to score occasionally then? Waring managed it on debut...
Both Lita & Treacy have the ability to shine at this level. Unfortunately, as yet, neither has shown this in a Barnsley shirt.
To be fair to him, he does put an awful lot of work in, unlike some at his stage of their careers when having fallen back from the heady heights of the Premier League to League One. For me, he often isn't selfish enough and plays with his back to goal rather than looking to get on the end of things (that's if there ever are any 'things' when we attack) in the box. But I suppose you could say the same about Winnall who was banging them in. Definately worth a place In the squad till the end of the season though.
Not really, not now anyway - he looks to have lost a substantial amount of pace. In the past yes, his record speaks for itself - proven goalscorer. Today he is just adding a bit of experience to the squad but that said he'll probably knock another couple in before the season's out.
Yes I believe he's a useful member of the squad. Definitely not in the same category as Treacy where some keep placing him.
I keep hoping he'll do just that and go on a run. I'm not hating on him or owt. I'd love him to come good and I support all of them on a matchday. Hope he bangs one in on Saturday.
Very poor. I thought it was a risky signing. He needs to stop running around and go back to goal hanging it's all he was ever good at. I have not noticed any improvement in performance as he has got fitter. There's still time for him to prove me wrong and I hope he does but I can't see it. He possesses little or no goal threat and in this regard has been our worst striker even Hemmings looks like he may occasionally score.
I think he's had a pretty thankless task at times this season, being expected to hold the ball up and win headers. At the same time, 2 goals (from literally 3 yards each time) and none since August is an absolutely pathetic return for a striker of his calibre. Especially when you see that Aaron Wilbraham, older and with 2 goals in 49 league games before this season at a similar level to Lita, is into double figures. Consensus: Must do better. A lot better.
If you listen to how highly Danny speaks of him. Then take note of the 100% effort he's given in the last 5-6 then you'll see what I see in him.
