    Could well have.... And Lita.

Although I'm told Winnall was a previous target

    Will do, no problem.

Lita was his former talent at Bristol. Doubt he needed that suggesting to him.

I'm pretty sure he's got players left right and centre being suggested/recommended, as all managers will.

He doesn't have to sign them. If he does have to, then he's a mug. And Danny int a mug.

You have to be pleased for those who progress their careers though.

Perhaps it was the scent of a possible top 6 finish that turned his head.

Thing is Whitey, he is ill or injured all the time.

Granted, he had one or two occasions where he had a chance but was the dropped, but my everlasting memory of RNL will be a player with a sack load of talent who just wasn't available for selection when required... And by the time we got over that hurdle he looked totally disinterested. Really hope he makes it. Sad he didnt make it with us.

Comments on ere recently have slated RNL commenting on how he cant even hold down a place in Rochdale side... If title of this thread is correct, it would suggest that Keith and the dale do rate him after all... Dissapointed if he does leave. Would have liked to see him break through in to our first team

Thing is, Fiona, I totally agree with all you've said.

But I will always view him as very talented and unlucky not to get a proper chance here. Considering some of the cranks we've had to watch - Shea, Woods, Treacy to name just a recent trio.

Agree totally. We've had some utter rubbish playing in positions he could have done a job.

    It's just not happened.

Gutted for him but I think it's the best outcome.

    Definitely. For him especially.

I just had that vain hope that Danny would bring him back into the fold and dispense of Treacy. Ah well.

Plenty of other promising kids to support, as I always do/will.

I bet a certain lad from Hemsworth is more gutted than me tonight....

Hope he doesn't sign for another club and find himself frozen out again. I think if I were him I'd be asking for a loan move elsewhere and hopefully work under a manager who actually plays him.

When he originally left on loan, I'd not heard the club initially and assumed Scunny (again) with Robins (again). To say I was shocked when I saw it was Dale is an understatement. I gave him some pillock over it at the time but he's been loving it there apparently, says he now understands what Keith wants from him. But as I say, what with Xmas etc, I'd not spoke to him in ages and like you from the outside I assumed he'd been dropped/failed etc.

On Thursday this week, I'll be doing some work at Newsome High School,(where Reuben went) . Every time I go there Reuben is up on the wall to greet me. And I keep thinking ... Go on Reuben ... Show 'em.

I really think he is/ was a talent that may slip thru the net. I think the people that have handled him are partly to blame, but I don't think he's grasped his chance(s) either. Wish him well though. He needs confidence, and I reckon a coach that affords him time (especially game time) will have a cracking player.

This pisses me off. Just like Rose this is another homegrown talent who's never had a run of games.

Especially when you consider last season experiment of playing Dawson & Mellis as wingers & then playing wasters like McCourt & Shea there when Reuben should've got his chance.

I still think there's a talented player in him & I wish him all the best.

It just ****s me off that he's another academy product that's never had a proper chance, all he's had is the odd appearance every couple of months

Are you sure you're a Barnsley fan ?
Everyone who's followed us for longer then half an hour knows exactly what fee we're getting, a UNDISCLOSED one, which rangers form fu'ck all to next to fu'ck all, it's the way the club operates, to our club us the punters are all just mushrooms to be fed ***** and kept in the dark, you should know all this by now.

    Didn't it ?

Who knows what we're getting for our players, they continue to be undisclosed fees in the case of last one we sold in COG unless we've let them go for nothing like Steele, Do you think this latest shower running the club day to day will be getting good value? Because I'm sceptical it all seem about lowering wage bill and towing the line with rules everyone else just flout

I agree with all that. If you put all the villages and high schools in Huddersfield in a list both Newsome High where he went and Crosland Moor where he lived (maybe still does) would be below average. Both areas have quite dodgy reputations but he's shown the type of guy he is. I'm sure it would have been pretty easy for him to go down the wrong path. I hope he has a brilliant career and that we have plenty of clauses in his contract when we let him go :)
