From what I've read he seems to have made himself unemployable for the sake of a few days on a reality show. I would imagine his missus isn't best pleased with him!

Seperate question. As I'm totally confused of what's now acceptable and what deemed offensive?!?!? I really am. Don't have a dig as this is a totally genuine question.

The N word, unacceptable, agreed. Coloured is deemed ok (yes/no)?, black seems ok to use?!? Negro (that Ken Morley used) isn't?!?

Is it just me? I was asked tOther week by my 10 year old what's ok and what is offensive in a really open and frank conversation instigated by him! I'll admit I couldn't really tell him.

    Sad days

Black people prefer to be called black, they don't like the term coloured. Dont think negro is acceptable.

It's a generational thing and certainly not a word people should be crucified for using. It was the preferred terminology ahead of 'coloured' or 'black' in the 1960s. Martin Luther King even used it to describe his own race. N***** is a different matter altogether.
    'The
United States Census Bureau announced that "Negro" would be included on the 2010 United States Census, alongside "Black" and "African-American", because some older black Americans still self-identify with the term'

I remember a while ago I was listening to praise or grumble and a Sheffield Utd fan (sounded like a older bloke) referred to a former player as a coloured chap, they pulled him up straight away then apologised after the call about the offensive language used, the old bloke sounded genuinely confused about what offensive word he'd said, I remember wondering at the time about how many black people would have really been offended by it.

Political correctness gone mad. He did nothing wrong. Pensioner Edwina Currie touched up Jake Quickenden and said dirty comments about him on I'm A Celebrity and people thought it was funny. But when it's a male pensioner who's not done as much as Edwina it's treated as differently. Amusing a Page 3 girl not being happy at being oggled at.

As a middle aged White British man, anyone can say anything they like about me with no fear of retribution. However, if I was to say anything in a derogatory manner about virtually any other gender/sexual/social/ethnic/religious group I would be lynched.

    Its a sad truth.

By the way, I have no idea what he said or who he upset, this is just a general comment.

never agreed with PC. Once the liberal lot start something like this, there is no end of it. Some want to ban people addressing bar staff etc. as"love" or "duck".

He used the N word in conversation with singer Alexandra O Neil. He was told calmly by him that he shouldn't use that word and then they went back to being close housemates. Basically Alexandra wasn't too bothered and just saw it as a silly old man who doesn't know better and a generation thing. He complimented the two young ladies in their 20s Chloe Goodman and Cami Li and got seen as pervy for it. He got warned by producers for his 'behaviour' and then in a convo with Keith Chegwin he used the N word again when refering to the music his mate Frank Bruno used to play in his dressing room when they did panto together. In the papers today it says the other housemates were packing their suitcases and all threatening to walk if he wasn't chucked out. Therefore producers buckled or they wouldn't have had a show to air.

Seems pretty innocuous, but stupid to repeat it after getting away with it once.

Personally I avoid saying anything beyond a simple greeting to young women for fear of appearing "pervy", its a bloody sad world we live in. I even avoid looking at them.

That would be me in trouble. I thought the offensive 'n' word was the other one. I was unaware that the Portugese word for black is offensive. In fact, as far as I am aware it is the 'polite' term for a person of African descent in that language. Living in Italy we have wines like 'Negroamaro" an inoffensive!! cheeky little red named after the grape variety that makes a deep red wine. Perhaps that should be banned too. Oso negro coffee anyone??
    PC gone mad.

Yeah he just doesn't engage his brain before he speaks. Old woman pervs on young guy and it's seen as harmless and funny. Old man pervs on young woman and it's seen as completely different. Alexandra even had to tell Chloe about getting changed in the bedroom full of housemates instead of in private. You put it on show and folks are going to look. Cami touched the arse of Callum Best after he told her not to but didn't get into trouble for it. They sent in Jeremy Jackson who's a recovering alcoholic and messed up in the head from a bad time recently in his personal life. They had to throw him out too. Now Perez Hilton has been told off for saying something like "the cancer has been removed" when on about Ken being thrown out. To be fair that was a tasteless comment.

A few years ago, I stayed with a mate (a few years older than me) in Bristol for the New Year and we went out for a few beers in the City centre. Walking home at just after midnight (crossing the Pero's Bridge if anyone knows Bristol) and this 20-something (I assume drunken) girl ran up from behind, stopped just in front of us and pulled her skirt up showing her backside. Me and John were a little taken aback by this but just laughed it off. If either of us had done it, we would have been arrested.

Probably would have been arrested if I wore a skirt......
