They both get massive home attendances but what's their away support like

When ever I watch their away games you never seem to see the away support

Average around 250 to 300 away fans... ****ing ***** stuff. Teams from England and Germany are the best supported domestic teams for travelling away.

Jesus I honestly wasn't expecting you both to say that . How the hell can you get 90,000 at home and take 300 away haha.

Travelling wise in Spain are the distances you travel similar to england or much further . Trying to think of a reason for this

Just reading now that Barcelona's biggest away following in the league was away at Mallorca 3 years ago, they took 1,700 away supporters which most travelled by ferry. How many did they take to Espanyol? A team in Barcelona? 500.

It also says Athletic Bilbao and Athletico Madrid have the best away following in Spain for the 2013-2014 season.

    Even more on this... (apologies)

When teams such as barca or real play away from home the home side only gives them around 5% of the ground as ticket demand from the home side is usually much greater for these two games therefore they give the away side as little amount of tickets they can.

They also blame poor transport around the country and the expense of tickets.

They should try supporting a premier league side! 106 quid a ticket at times at arsenal and 90 at Liverpool.

Simple, they get much less allocation then English/German sides.

Its very rare you see away fans in la liga because of huge home support.

    some excuses from Barca Fans

    - Spain is four times England in terms of surface. Trips as Barcelona-Málaga or La Coruña-Málaga are longer than 1000km, and that's when Las Palmas or Tenerife (Canary Islands) are not in the top flight
    - Home clubs doesn't give a big ticket quota to away teams. In fact in some matches, they even don't give any ticket to away teams.
    - Salaries here aren't as high as in England

Both - even with the above excuses/reasons surely taking less than 1% of their home following is pretty poor

I don't think you're reading the reasons instead concentrating on them being excuses. For some reason.

These seem to be genuine reasons when you look at it. I worked with a Spanish bloke a few years back and he said that generally they might only get a 300 - 500 ticket allocation at away games. Plus he said that there wasn't the same away match culture in Spain as there is in England. How many do they take away when they play teams around Europe in the European cup and the UEFA cup.

Believe it or not we have a public transport system which is the envy of most of the world, it's nowhere near as extensive in Spain, probably makes getting around very slow and expensive.
