    first time ive been down this way in over 12 years! dubai and the gulf area has changed beyond all recognition

    im back on the 15th of May just in time for our play off triumph!!

    2 week stand off in dubai isnt bad though! we were meant to sail in october but weve been getting engines fixed

    im not sure il get to see many of those mate!

    we are just off the port of Aqaba in Jordan right now, might get a visit to the lost city of Petra sometime over the weekend

    Went to Karachi on Chatham, spent a fortune on rosewood furniture, the ship was full of the stuff, Tas mag had a dining room table and 8 chairs in it.
    Bahrains ok if you can get in the Brit Club.
    Dubai is great, I start my new job there in February (can't wait) Glad I've got player

    Left as a CWEM(O) in 2004, been working in Raleigh for the last 11 years with Interserve and then Babcock as the Site Electrician.
    Been great really cos I still felt part of the mob, even though we moaned a lot it was a great 24 years and I was gutted that the WE branch was binned. Both my lads are WE's, nothing much has changed, they sleep for England.

    8 hours a day mate and what they get at nights a bonus! nothing changes there :)

    im in the ops room, PO AWT or Radar as was, chief next year (at last!) 24 years so far, id leave but that would mean having to grow up! mainly been a pompey rate apart form a short stretch in hell on the Ocean!

    in the navy mate, its top notch actually, 24 years now so its been a decent stretc, for the most part its been excellent, seen some amazing places and i ive been to hull. :)
